One More Thing

Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for: the day our Great Leader stands before our Great Nation to take stock of previous successes and announce an inspiring initiative that will rock our world.

That’s right: Steve Jobs introduces the Apple Tablet this morning!

Oh, and Barry will be delivering the State of the Union address tonight.

If we’ve recovered from our geekgasm by then, our Open Thread/Unauthorized Finger Gestures will begin at 8:45 p.m. Eastern.

Fox Jazeera Circles the Wagons

While Michelle Malkin and Allahpundit continue to dig deep into PimpGate, Saudi media empire Fox News tries hard to look the other way:

No where in the media material provided by the Department of Justice is there an allegation that they were trying to wiretap the Senator’s phones, though there are reports a listening device was found in one of the suspect’s cars.

The nature of O’Keefe’s apparent video project also remains unclear. He spent the night in jail and his lawyer was waiting to hear from him. Attorney Michael Madigan told me, “We don’t have any of the facts yet, but James O’Keefe, at heart, is a really good kid. We are looking into this further and are awaiting hearing from James directly.”

A source close to James told me “they were not attempting to wiretap the phones or anything like that,” and another source said “he would not want to do anything wrong.”

Even Sarah Palin’s Supporters Have Their Limits

We don’t want to make too much of this — yet — but it’s worthy of notice:

when Palin announced last week that she would campaign for McCain in his reelection primary battle against ultra-conservative former congressman J.D. Hayworth, some of her most vocal supporters were outraged that she would endorse McCain, who they see as a Republican in Name Only (RINO).

Evidence includes a co-founder (and current persona non grata) of the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee saying Talibunny of “has now chose to align herself with several bad actors,” Michelle Malkin fretting about “McCain Regression Syndrome,” and a flurry of unkind remarks following Palin’s Facebook post endorsing “Commonsense Candidates.” (If you have a membership, there’s similar chatter at Team Sarah — “If Palin campaigns for McCain she can kiss her political future good-bye.”)

We’re fascinated because for the past year, we’ve seen Talibunny as the goddess of her own cult — someone who is the standard by which all else is measured. We’ve been wondering what, if anything, could get between her and her followers.

And if it turns out to be John McCain — well, there’s the finale to our musical.

Feds Bitch-Slap ACORN Pimp

We never paid much attention to the “ACORN Sting” to begin with, so we’re not particularly aroused by news today that the ACORN Stinger was caught in New Orleans trying to bug the office of Mary Landrieu.

But since the Sting is one of those stories that wingnuts accuse moonbats of ignoring, we thought we’d see how wingnuts are handling the news that one of their own has fallen.

Surprise! We’re having a hard time finding anything.

Saudi-Owned Network Offers Most Trusted News in America

A new poll shows that Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud’s seven-percent investment in News Corp. is paying off:

Our newest survey looking at perceptions of ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News finds Fox as the only one that more people say they trust than distrust. 49% say they trust it to 37% who do not.

We congratulate Fox Jazeera on its accomplishment.
