Our grandchildren are gonna be soooo pissed at us.Title: Deb & Seby’s Real Deal on Global Warming

Author: Al Sonja Schmidt

Rank: 520,655

Blurb: “In and out of the classroom children are bombarded with graphic images of earth’s destruction and drowning polar bears due to global warming. They worry that we must all fix the problem FAST! Or they worry that it’s already too late and we’re all DOOMED! But is man-made global warming really settled science, or the last environmental scare? Deb and Seby’s Real Deal on Global Warming is a contemporary, fun and entertaining book for children (ages 11 and up) and adults who want to learn more about the other side of global warming without big scientific words!”

Review: “London was hit by its first October snow since 1922.”

Turn left at Bikini Bottom.

Prommie’s joint opens in a week. We forgot to ask whether he permits mustard on his cheeseburgers.

Cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
“First Historic Public Burning of Social Security Cards”

Thanks to JNOV’s scouting, we’ve become rabid fans of rexcurry.net, which reads like a Talking Heads album cover come to life, it’s so full of adorable crazy-ass folk politics:

Rex the iconoclast is the first person to publicly burn his social security card in protest to end socialist slave numbers and the first and only person to organize the public burning of SS cards against Nazi numbers and the only place on the web with the historic photographs.

Rex comes to our attention because, well, we came to his. Last November we observed the passing of the man who added “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance, and Rex saw fit to include our post on his site. That’s where JNOV discovered it — and after some chitchat here about her discovery, Rex updated his page to include the Google-bait phrase SWASTIKA STINQUE.

Which all makes sense, provided you waste enough time piecing it together.

We’re not sure this is what folks have in mind when they think about sex tourism, but China will be entering the market this fall when it opens “Love Land,” a theme park devoted to the horny kid in all of us.

Think animatronic pestorking displays and a waterslide Magic Mound.

Okay, we’re making that up. We think.

But it’s hard not to presume, not when guests are greeted by a “giant revolving model of a woman’s legs and lower torso, clad only in an unflattering crimson thong.” Nor when one of the park’s attractions will be an “oversized replica of a set of genitals.” Might we suggest an Orgasmatron? Or a haunted Notell Hotel? Or a detailed scale model of — yes, we’re going there — Epcock Center?

Fine, fine. But don’t be surprised when Six Flags adopts our brilliant ideas to save itself from bankruptcy.

Update: The park’s been demolished.

untitledSerolf Divad’s comment got me thinking about the various sources of wingnut welfare, and that made me think back to one of my favorite wingnuts, Brigitte Gabriel.  She’s not much of a wingnut – no “fellowship” at AEI or Hudson – but she’s all over Fox News and writes for The American Thinker.  Bulk purchases of her books by conservative organizations likely contribute to her wingnut welfare total.

I thought I’d repost a little something I wrote about her back in June 2006.  Vintage wingnuttery, if you will. After the jump you’ll see why she’s so special to me.

macdonald200I was going to post on Stormy, or the latest Carrie Prejean tantrum, but then Agi sent me something that earned the writer our Wingnut of the Day award.

This is Heather MacDonald. She is a John M. Olin fellow at the Manhattan Institute and contributing editor to something called City Journal. For those of you that don’t know, John M. Olin was a rich wingnut who funded a bunch of think tanks to pay lesser wingnuts – aka “fellows” – to write things that no sane person would pay them to write.  That, by the way, is more or less the definition of wingnut welfare.

Stand back – it gets ugly pretty fast:
