GOP Icon Jim Adkisson Chuckles Contentedly, Assured of His Place in the Republican Pantheon of Heroes Forever and a Day

GOP patron saint and hillbilly mass murderer Jim Adkisson this week gleefully confessed to gunning down members of a church in Knoxville, the first strike in a genocidal campaign advocated by his mentors, professional wingnut media psychopaths Michael Savage, Sean Hannity and failed obscene phone caller Bill O’Reilly.

Adkission grinned broadly in satanic bliss on Feb. 9 as he pleaded guilty in state Criminal Court to savagely murdering two people with a sawed-off shotgun at a children’s play staged in the Tennessee Valley United Unitarian Church last July and then mowing down another seven people in a wingnut rampage that delighted and inspired his prophets of hate and rage. The upshot is that there was a bank run in the making on September 18, and that if there was nothing done, the economy of the United States would be completely destroyed in the space of three hours, with the world economy falling apart as a result.

There are several possibilities.  If you buy Paul Kanjorski’s account, then (a) the debate about the worst President / Administration ever is OVER, but (b) the bailout looks better than it really should.  But maybe Hank and Ben were telling a ghost story about impending doom in order to get Democrats — a malleable bunch, them — to do whatever the Bush Administration wanted.  Which is the Bush / Democratic m.o. in 2007-2008.  Or maybe Kanjorski is just covering his own ass for the shoddy bailout plan that allowed all sorts of waste and nonsense.

Not only was Ted Haggard a busier perv than we thought, he’s not the only perv at his “church”. Signorile:

A Colorado Springs bail bondsman and sometime bounty hunter who has been investigating New Life Church and Ted Haggard for several years appeared on my show late on Friday and told me that he now has information on ten more cases of sexual misconduct on the part of Ted Haggard and that three of these involve minors. He also said that New Life Church had suppressed from the media an earlier case of a pastor at the church (which has many pastors under the senior pastor) who was convicted of sexual assault against a child under the age of 15 and got off easy with help from the church, only to later have his probation revoked. The convicted pastor then illegally left the country, he said, and he speculates that New Life Church may have helped him do so.
