GOP Tantrums

Blazing Ballots.

Republicans have been gunning for ACORN for years, but it took the election of a black president to make the insinuations stick:

PPP’s newest national survey finds that a 52% majority of GOP voters nationally think that ACORN stole the Presidential election for Barack Obama last year, with only 27% granting that he won it legitimately…

Belief in the ACORN conspiracy theory is even higher among GOP partisans than the birther one, which only 42% of Republicans expressed agreement with on our national survey in September.

Overall 62% of Americans think Obama legitimately won the election to only 26% who think ACORN stole it for him, as few Democrats or independents buy into that line of thinking.

Left unexplained is the ACORN Gap: Obama won 52 percent of popular vote, yet 10 percent more still think he’s legitimate. Who are those nuts?

This should be fun:

Mr. Crist, who has been endorsed by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, is seen by these conservatives as too moderate — even liberal — in his judicial appointments and his support of policies like cap and trade for emissions that contribute to global warming and restoring voting rights to ex-felons.

“Florida is a hill to die on for conservatives,” said Erick Erickson, editor of the conservative blog RedState.com, which leads a daily drumbeat against Mr. Crist. “This is the clearest example we have of these two competing concepts.”

So die already.

Khaaaaaaaan!Lindsey Graham, perennial also-ran in the South Carolina Douchebag Standings, can’t catch a break from the local crowd:

Republicans in Charleston County censured their own U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, saying he puts bipartisanship before the party on issues like climate change.

“U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in the name of bipartisanship continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law, and fiscal conservatism,” according to a resolution passed Monday…

Last week, Graham joined Democratic U.S. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts and independent U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut to say they would work with the White House to reach a climate bill that could pass the chamber.

There’s an old line that you had to be to the right of Genghis Khan to please some Republicans. But with Khan now celebrated as a Chinese hero, we may have to update the comparison to the Khan who opposed one-universe government.

Batshit Insane Bachmann Goes on NaziNews to Call Out Brownshirts to Terrorize Congress

Barkingly insane, facebiting fucktard Michele Bachmann (R-Cookoo’s Nest) went on Fox News to howl commands to the GOP methhead militia to attack Congress tomorrow in order to ensure that health insurance rates continue to increase by 20% per quarter and that Americans can experience the joy of having their coverage canceled after decades of premium-paying for belching loudly after a meal. Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahahahaha.

Psychobitch Bachmann announced the brownshirt assault she is planning for tomorrow on the Gretchen Carlson festival of hate and rage today on Fox News. The twisted Congresswench from Minnesota stared at the camera with quivering eyes and her demented grin and commanded her shock troops to storm legislators’ offices at High Noon tomorrow, “look at the whites of their eyes of their members of Congress and say, don’t you remember? I told you don’t take away my health care!’.”

090810_beck_palin_limbaugh_ap_comp_297Lemons?  Make lemonade:

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., was among those who urged Dierdre K. Scozzafava to endorse Democratic congressional candidate William L. Owens, the senator’s spokesman said Saturday.

The spokesman, Maxwell Young, said the senator called a number of north country political leaders after Ms. Scozzafava suspended her campaign and had more than one conversation with the Republican candidate ahead of her announcement. He said the senator also called other Democratic leaders about the situation, including White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Mr. Owens said he was “honored” by the endorsement.

090810_beck_palin_limbaugh_ap_comp_297I don’t often read op-eds I agree with because, well, I probably won’t learn anything.  Besides, reading the mainstream wingnuttery at the WaPo and NYT is fun and offers myriad opportunities to mock The Villagers.  But today’s Frank Rich piece about the NY-23 congressional kerfuffle is too good to pass up:

Who exactly is the third-party maverick arousing such ardor? Hoffman doesn’t even live in the district. When he appeared before the editorial board of The Watertown Daily Times 10 days ago, he “showed no grasp” of local issues, as the subsequent editorial put it. Hoffman complained that he should have received the questions in advance — blissfully unaware that they had been asked by the paper in an editorial on the morning of his visit.

Last week it turned out that Hoffman’s prime attribute to the radical right — as a take-no-prisoners fiscal conservative — was bogus. In fact he’s on the finance committee of a hospital that happily helped itself to a $479,000 federal earmark. Then again, without the federal government largess that the tea party crowd so deplores, New York’s 23rd would be a Siberia of joblessness. The biggest local employer is the pork-dependent military base, Fort Drum.

Erick Erickson shits the bed again:

Today, Earl Pomeroy declared he would be Nancy Pelosi’s lap dog, despite the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office declaring her plan will exceed $1.5 trillion. Oh, they put back in the death panels and abortion funding too. It doesn’t matter to Earl anymore. He is going to support Obamacare and he needs to be painfully reminded that he is betraying his constituents.

I just sent Earl Pomeroy a pile of fake dog poop, only because the post office won’t send the real stuff. He needs a real reminder of what the Democrats are serving up and that he is betraying his constituents and selling out our country.

What’s next, plastic corpses?  Eensey weensey coffins?
