If he can’t win this fight, if he can’t explain why rich people don’t need tax cuts and won’t create jobs if they get them, he can’t explain why we should re-elect him.

The coast is clear, folks!  The Bush tax cuts are safe for another two years!  And unemployment insurance is good to go until January 2012.  Hooray!

And there’s an ironclad guarantee that the GOP will not, in any way, put the whole tax cut issue out front when the expiration date comes around again just before the 2012 elections.  No ads that suggest, for example, that if Obama gets a second term, taxes will go up.  No way that happens.  The Republicans will have no ability to beat Obama up on this issue again.

Like they just did.

Last we heard from the Asshole from Oklahoma, he was refusing to participate in a Tulsa holiday parade because the town had forsaken Jesus. This morning, he reiterated his opposition to secular Festivus celebrations:

Are you ready to rumble? C-SPAN is airing the battle in San Francisco, beginning at 10 am PST.

Three judges from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments this morning on whether Prop. 8 is constitutional.

The first hurdle will be for the proponents of the ballot measure to explain to the court how they even have standing to appeal district judge Vaughn Walker’s August 4 decision striking down Prop. 8, seeing as how the named defendant, the Guvernator, and AG/soon to be Governor Moonbeam refused to appeal the decision.
