President-Elect Barry, along with David Plouffe, whose name always makes me think that he should be a dessert filling, residing between two delicious pieces of angel food cake, won’t leave me alone.  I realize there’s this whole, “We got him elected, now the hard part starts. . .”  esprit, which is a good thing.  However, I will not give Barry any more of my money, at least for a little while.  Today’s offering is a coffee cup, which is Black, like coffee, like half of Barack Obama, and like Regis Philbin’s heart (trust me).  Purportedly, this money is for the DNC, so it can elect more black socialists two years from now.  But I think it’s for some inaugural ball Cristal, which is a drink that stereotypical rich black people drink (stereotypical normal black people drink Colt 45).  Anyway, please, Barry, can you refrain from asking me to give you $15 dollars for this admittedly classy coffee mug?  Just allow me to enjoy the decrepit American economy in peace, for a little while. It’s torch and pitchfork time again:

Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) — American International Group Inc., the insurer rescued from failure by the U.S., should name executives getting “retention” payments and explain why the awards are needed, said Representative Elijah Cummings.

AIG, which said in a September filing that 130 managers will get “cash awards” to stay through 2009, isn’t providing enough information, said Cummings, a Maryland Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, in a letter to AIG dated yesterday.

And if you don’t think they’re going to steal it all, get a load of this:

Oh, David Foster. You are just too cute for words.

With Celine Dion, we were selling 25 million records a pop. Pop stands for popular. It means we’re plugging into the masses. So all the hipsters that are selling 300,000 [copies] and they’re on [a rock station] and all that … it’s great. And I like that kind of music, but so what? They’re not making any money. And it is about making money, too, right?

Listen: I was in a club in London this week, on suggestion of a friendly clerk at a Notting Hill record store. There was a band from Perth called The Snowmen. They may not have been terribly talented, but they showed more pure emotion in a one-hour set than David Foster has ever genuinely felt in his entire life.

And this is not rare — I’ve been to clubs in San Francisco, Chicago, D.C., etc. It’s not made up, pre-packaged crap, or a focus-grouped profit-oriented angle. It’s real, honest entertainment.

So they aren’t swimming in it. Big deal. Foster should get himself to an indie show and take notes. Pronto.

Muckracking Alaska political blog – Palin’s Deception – this week revealed a photograph of the Talibunny’s tummy with a confirmed date of March 26, 2008, just 23 days before she allegedly birthed Trig Palin, her alleged fifth child, that shows no sign of pregnancy.

The controversy surrounding the true parentage of Trig Palin began swirling before the child was born, when staffers and Juneau political cognoscenti expressed surprise that Palin was pregnant when she announced the impending birth – six months into the term. A number went on record expressing no clue the governor had been pregnant, odd for a healthy strapping lady who in previous pregnancies exuded a robust maternal glow.

What we know about Canadian politics you could drown in a bottle of Moosehead, but perhaps we should sit up and start paying attention:

Canada’s minority Conservative government may seek the temporary suspension of Parliament to stop opposition parties from voting it out and taking power, an aide to Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Tuesday.

Now that’s how an imperial executive acts: like, well, a reigning monarch. None of this will-of-the-people crap from Shrub, who has been suspiciously happy to surrender power to Barry.

Dude: Refuse to step down. Defy Congress to challenge your authority. Pelosi? How many divisions has she got?

The Chief Financial Officer of a Jesus-crazed Ohio university was arrested on Saturday for jumping into a car and grabbing a cop by the gonads in an apparent attempt to give him a hand job in the middle of a city park, the stupid fuck, police allege.

The fuckwit in question, Cincinnati Christian University CFO Robert Williams, 52, of Independence, was arrested at 9:23 a.m., accused of getting into a undercover cop’s car and mauling the constable’s genitals.

WLWT.com reported that University president David Faust said, “This is a personal tragedy for him and for his family, and we lift him up in our prayers,” Faust said, as if that would stop Williams from lifting up his dick to show strange guys in city parks.

The other big story in England right now, besides the Mumbai bombings, is the fallout from the arrest of the shadow minister for immigration for making public information that was leaked to him by a source within the government. The cause was, basically, that the MP was releasing official secrets.

This is officially a big deal. It’s the equivalent of having a Member of Congress hauled in for something other than a gay sex scandal. And, apparently, it had the tacit approval of the Speaker — who has, historically, had the duty to protect the privileges of MPs from stuff like random trips to the gaol by the monarch. (Speaking of whom: the Queen’s Speech is tomorrow, which may be disrupted in some way by Conservative MPs causing some sort of ruckus. What a Conservative ruckus looks like is beyond my imagination — and I’m not counting the Miami “Brooks Brothers Riot” featuring ex-Rep. John Sweeney (R-Union College Frathouse), which I classify as a “stupid ruckus.”)
