Compassionate Conservatives

bob_allenThis blog was built on hypocrisy.  Mind-boggling, in your face hypocrisy.  Vitterian hypocrisySpitzerian hypocrisy. The hypocrisy of a Larry Craig.

But we’re in trouble. The shortage of GOP assfucking scandals is now a full blown crisis.

Let’s leave Gary Aldridge aside.  He was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.  How often does a Jerry Falwell acolyte off himself while trying to get off while clad in 2 wetsuits, bound, with a dildo up his ass?  It’s like Scarlett Johansson getting her cherry popped – a beautiful thing that will only happen once.

klutzDeep thought:

President Obama lifted the restrictions on stem-cell research yesterday.  But suppose Preznit Bunnypants hadn’t put them in place to begin with?

Sure, we know about the dead in Iraq – the people, the soldiers – and we know what happened in New Orleans. But how many people would be alive today if Bush hadn’t put his religion before the rest of us?  How many people would be walking instead of in wheelchairs had science not been hobbled for the past eight years?  How many people would be enjoying their lives instead of suffering?  We’ll never know.

Nothing says, "I'm more of a badass than Ann Coulter" like a leather vest and chola-style lipstick.

Nothing says, "I'm more of a badass than Ann Coulter" like a leather vest and chola makeup.

“If you take your kids to see Watchmen, you’re a moron.

If you see it yourself, you’re also probably a moron and a vapid, indecent human being.”

That’s how Debbie Schlussel, D-list Ann Coulter wannabe, begins her thoughtful, measured review of this year’s biggest box office hit. She’s a real charmer, our Debbie.

Now, I agree with the first statement – and apparently, so does the Motion Picture Association of America, which gave the film an R rating. But does the second statement not, by default, name her as a vapid, indecent human being? Oh, right, she was just performing a service for dull-minded parents who do whatever their kids tell them to do.

If you’re wondering why her name sounds familiar, you might know her as the author of a twice-weekly column entitled, “Debbie Does Politics.” She is a role model for the children, really.  And drag queens.

You’re shitting me:

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), whose career became mired in the D.C. Madam prostitution scandal back in 2007, and is now headed into his 2010 re-election campaign, is championing the cause of family values in the omnibus bill, and the need to stop government spending on family planning. Really.

That’s the same David Vitter who did the following:

One of these Wendys is not like the other.

Senator David Vitter (R-LA) has called on Senator Roland Burris (D-IL) to resign. Senator Vitter, you’ll recall, refused to resign when exposed as a hooker fucker.

Despite his own refusal to resign after admitting to being a former patron of the “DC Madam”, Vitter dismissed the notion that his demands of Burris are hypocritical. “I honestly don’t know anybody who would compare these situations. They are dramatically different,” Vitter said.
