At 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, the geek-news website ReadWriteWeb posted an article about a new industry partnership, titling it “Facebook Wants to Be Your One True Login”.

That’s when the trouble began.

9:12 a.m. “Ok If I have to I will comment,I love facebook so right now just want to log in if thats ok with you..lol Keep up the good work…”

9:39 a.m. “ok cool now can I get to facebook”

9:47 a.m. “The new facebook sucks> NOW LET ME IN.”

9:53 a.m. “when can we log in?”

9:54 a.m. “I WANT THE OLD FAFEBOOK BACK THIS SHIT IS WACK!!!!!”

It goes on. And on. And on. Comment after comment, people complaining that they can’t log into Facebook.

Why? Because they thought the ReadWriteWeb post was Facebook. Seriously. No fucking shit.

We’re not trying to cop the Daily News in every post this week — we’re just having a hard time avoiding it:

The Riverside Press-Enterprise quoted Fiorina saying, “Whether that is the right approach now, I don’t know. I think bankruptcy, as a possibility, at the very least focuses the mind on what has to be done to salvage a situation.”

When asked by The Bee on Wednesday whether she knew states couldn’t declare bankruptcy, Fiorina answered, “Sure, I knew, but what cold comfort is that to all these California voters who may not know that technicality but who are sitting here knowing that by any common-sense definition, this state can’t pay its bills.”

Actually, the proper move for the disgraced ex-CEO of HP would be to overpay for Arizona and then declare bankruptcy.

Chris Cillizza, Tuesday:

Sarah Palin’s soundbite strategy

From a raw political perspective, Palin’s soundbite strategy is extremely effective — handing her supporters a single line (or two) around which to rally in opposition to the President’s agenda…

The simple fact of politics is that the party — or candidate — with the best soundbites (or slogans) often wins.

Chris Cillizza, Thursday:

The Sarah Palin Surge (and why it’s overblown)

A gift for soundbites is a great skill to have but in the course of a long campaign — and that is assuredly what 2012 will be — Palin will have to show her ability to not only be conversant on the issues of the day but also forward-looking in terms of where she wants to take the country.

Yes, yes, he hedges both columns — but if he had run with the gist of Thursday’s column on Tuesday, he might have demonstrated genuine insight instead of play-of-the-day hackishness.

David Broder, Thursday:

Sarah Palin displays her pitch-perfect populism

The snows that obliterated Washington in the past week interfered with many scheduled meetings, but they did not prevent the delivery of one important political message: Take Sarah Palin seriously…

Those who want to stop her will need more ammunition than deriding her habit of writing on her hand. The lady is good.

Washington Post, Thursday:

There is a growing sense that the former Alaska governor is not qualified to serve as president, with more than seven in 10 Americans now saying she is unqualified, up from 60 percent in a November survey. Even among Republicans, a majority now say Palin lacks the qualifications necessary for the White House.

Remember, Sarah Palin should be used for Entertainment Purposes Only.

Meandering about the blogosphere the other day I ran across an amusing story detailing yet another example Fox News much vaunted propagandizing balance falling flat on face. It comes in the form of a poll published in the Fox Forum and reproduced to the left that gives some remarkably non-foxy results.

Now, it’s certainly amusing to see Fox publish a poll in which a full 75% of respondents characterize the Tea Party movement as a “fruitless mix of racism, conspiracy theories.” Read more »

An opposition map shows proposed routes to a rally in Tehran's Azadi Square.

Today is Sarah Palin’s 46th birthday. It’s also the 31st anniversary of the Iranian Revolution. One is notable because of an accident of history. The other is world-historical.

So my best buddy calls me from Florida – he lives outside of Washington DC, but he claimed when I spoke to him today that he and his significant other are “stuck” in Miami.  He called from poolside at their hotel.  Rub it the fuck in.

Here in NYC we’re getting slammed. We might get 18 inches of snow or so total.

But it’s far worse in DC.  My buddy told me that in Montgomery County, where my Mom and sister live, the snow and wind is so bad that they took the snow plows off the road.  In Baltimore, no vehicles allowed on the road except plows and emergency vehicles. With about 29 inches of snow on the ground, they’re getting hit again.

And nojo emailed me a bit ago to say that it was warm in San Diego – his front door is open.

Rub it in.
