O’Connor Questions Court’s Decision to take Bush v. Gore [Chicago Tribune]

Media Matters is a site that exists to point and shout – “look at the stupid shit this conservative said!” So nojo and I were talking: how many posts can you do about Louie Gohmert, Virginia Foxx, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and the other GOP idiots who put on clown shoes and bring the crazy every day? Do the four or five people who visit this website get tired of being confronted with the latest right wing obscenity time and time again? Are we tilting at windmills?

Poor widdle Pewwy…Governor Good Hair got upset about this cartoon in the Sacramento Bee:

He forgot to draw the bottle of pills on the podium.

He said he was “disgusted” by the cartoon and it mocked the deaths of people in West, TX. No, dipshit, what’s disgusting is the unfettered devil-may-care attitude of you and the corporation that disregarded the safety of residents. The editor of the Sac Bee said it best:

The Bee’s editorial page editor, Stuart Leavenworth, responded Friday that the artist, Jack Ohman, “made a strong statement about Gov. Rick Perry’s disregard for worker safety, and his attempts to market Texas a place where industries can thrive with few regulations.”

“It is unfortunate that Gov. Perry, and some on the blogosphere, have attempted to interpret the cartoon as being disrespectful for the victims of this tragedy,” Leavenworth said. “As Ohman has made clear on his blog, he has complete empathy for the victims and people living by the plant.

“What he finds offensive is a governor who would gamble with the lives of families by not pushing for the strongest safety regulations. Perry’s letter is an attempt to distract people from that message.”

John BoehnerZandar:

Democrats didn’t lose the sequester fight today. Democrats have spent the last few decades losing the sequester fight. They lost it long before it even began, because they’ve done absolutely no pushback against the notion that government budgets are riddled with colossal amounts of waste, the elimination of which is all we need to have balanced budgets and low taxes and a happy dance around the maypole to celebrate our widespread abundance.

Our “representatives” are afraid of the GOP, afraid to tell them what we want.

Prediction? Our species will die out about 2063 due to Republican delaying tactics.

imagesMaybe it’s because you used bigots, idiots, and sociopaths to win elections for the last 50 years:

Frank Luntz, the media-friendly Republican consultant and word wiz, told a group of college students this week that Rush Limbaugh and right-wing talk radio are “problematic” for the GOP and partly responsible for the stark polarization within the nation’s political discourse. He only dared to speak so candidly about Limbaugh and other conservative hosts off the record. A secretly recorded video, though, captured Luntz’s remark.

Some say we need a renewed, less hateful GOP in the opposition. I say fuck ’em. Let them all be cast into the political darkness for the damage they have done, the lives they have ruined, and the social programs they have destroyed. Fuck all of them.
