Today I left the island of Manhattan for the first time since October 2008. I went to a Bar Mitzvah in Riverdale.

Am I turning into Woody Allen?

This is the Guggenheim museum in New York City.  It will turn 50 years old in October. Also, it recently underwent a complete exterior restoration.  It looks great, but I have no idea about the inside. When we went today to see the exhibit associated with the anniversary, the line was around the block.  Even the line to renew my lapsed membership was long, so we’ll give it a try closer to the end of the exhibition, August 23, 2009.

In a thrilling come-from-behind win, it’s Governor Mark Sanford (R-SC):

Gov. Mark Sanford is taking the General Assembly to court after lawmakers required him to accept $350 million in disputed federal money by overriding his budget vetoes.

Sanford quickly announced the federal suit after the Senate voted 34-11 on a state budget that forces him to accept the money.

My dream is coming true:

Today, I am excited to announce that I am taking the next step in exploring a possible run for United States Senate. Two weeks ago, I embarked on a listening tour where I had the pleasure of hearing the thoughts and concerns of my fellow Louisianans. These conversations were highly encouraging and convinced me to officially explore the possibility of running for the United States Senate.
