Hail Muntadhar!Two bits of news.

First: you remember that guy who threw his shoes at Dubya?  He’s out of the clink.  No word on whether he was picked up by his brother, driving a used police car.

Second: you know that other party in Japan that got beat more than the Washington Generals?  Looks like they — the Democratic Party of Japan — have laid an ass-whuppin’ on the Liberal Democrats.  And now, let’s meet our next contestant, and Johnny will tell us about him!  [“He’s a industrial efficiency expert who loves to watch baseball!  Meet Yukio Hatoyama!” (Applause.)]

Fuckabee:

The 2008 Republican presidential candidate suggested during his radio show, “The Huckabee Report,” on Thursday that, under President Obama’s health care plan, Kennedy would have been told to “go home to take pain pills and die” during his last year of life.

And the right-wing echo chamber keeps going, and going, and going …

Are you listening to me? Fuck.Destined to join Stuff On My Cat and Stuff White People Like in Internet immortality is the hot new Twitter feed, Shit My Dad Says. Written by 28-year-old Justin about his 73-year-old father, it reads like an undiscovered Walter Matthau movie:

  • “You know, sometimes it’s nice having you around. But now ain’t one of those times. Now gimmie the remote we’re not watching this bullshit.”
  • “The dog don’t like you planting stuff there. It’s his backyard. If you’re the only one who shits in something, you own it. Remember that.”

It was a product of a different era, really.  Yet the fact remains that Reading Rainbow is no more.  But don’t take my word for it.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammo.We haven’t been following all the twists, but that dude who packed an assault rifle to Barry’s Phoenix healthcare rally? His pastor had given a Very Special Sermon about Obama the day before:

You’re going to tell me that I’m supposed to pray for the socialist devil, murderer, infanticide, who wants to see young children and he wants to see babies killed through abortion and partial-birth abortion and all these different things — you’re gonna tell me I’m supposed to pray for God to give him a good lunch tomorrow while he’s in Phoenix, Arizona?

Nope. I’m not gonna pray for his good. I’m going to pray that he dies and goes to hell.

Well, the Lord heard his prayer, and sent the Secret Service to offer communion.

Barbara Bush HospitalizedGeorge H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush:

George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush won’t attend Ted Kennedy’s funeral tomorrow, the AP reports. All of the living presidents had been expected at the senator’s service in Boston, but the 85-year-old Bush changed his mind after learning his son would be among the mourners, a rep says. Bush [43] will “amply and well represent” the family, the spokesman says.

The only thing W “well represents” is his own disgusting legacy. We’re reminded of that every time he surfaces.

Interestingly, the Bushes were nearly edged out by this man.
