Making lemonade from lemons:

Brad Goehring, Republican Congressional candidate for California’s 11th Congressional District, said yesterday that it was “opening day” of the hunting season for liberals.  Apparently inspired by Talibunny’s “aim and reload at Democrats” comment and map on her Facebook page, Goehring (unclear at press time whether any relation to Hermann Goehring) said on his Facebook page:

If I could issue hunting permits, I would officially declare today opening day for liberals. The season would extend to November 2 and have no limits on how many taken as we desperately need to ‘thin’ the herd.

Predictably, a “clarification” was posted a few hours later.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and today is the National Day of Action to raise awareness about sexual assault.

So today’s story is from New Hampshire, where teabagger and GOP candidate for Governor Jack Kimball did his part on Tax Day to raise awareness of sexual assault and rape, as he joked to a crowd:

In Concord, gubernatorial candidate Jack Kimball drew cheers with an anti-tax message. He decried the state’s taxation of business while criticizing its relatively low level of services.

“I don’t mind paying my fair share, folks,” he said. “I don’t think any of us do. But I do mind when I’m raped. It’s awful.”
