Like many other news orgs, the AP today is reprinting excerpts from the online diary kept by George Sodini, who killed 4 women and then himself at a Pittsburgh area fitness center last night.  The diary focuses on his problems with women and other worries, but also has some comments about the “liberal media,” the “Obama economy” — and it opens with remarks about last fall’s election, the election of “The Black Man” and jokes about black men and white women.  All left out of the AP excerpts and nearly everywhere else.  Here is the full diary.  UDPATE:  The diary has now been taken off the Web.

AP Omits Killer’s Obama References [E&P]

1. Interesting that he thinks members of his audience are capable of, say, blowing up a federal building.

2. Interesting that he brings up the Tiller murder.

3. Most interesting is that his usual passion is missing. Seems like he’s covering his ass for the shitstorm he knows will follow his insane racist rants. Disturbing to say the least.

Alabama is well and truly fucked:

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — It is hardly unusual these days for a government building to forgo a fresh paint job or regular lawn care to cut costs. But last week, the director of the Jefferson County public nursing home was told that the county could no longer afford to bury indigent patients.

Across town at the juvenile detention center, the man in charge was trying to figure out how to feed the 28 children in his custody when the entire cafeteria staff is let go. The tax collector warned local school districts to expect a six-month delay to get their share of property taxes. In family court, administrators plan to delay child support, custody and child abuse cases, leaving some children in the hands of the state indefinitely.

And what does you suppose Alabama’s junior senator is doing to help his constituents (other than opposing the stimulus)?
