On a certain level, I can understand the guy’s frustrations having been there myself in my 20s.

However, unlike this soul, I learned a basic truth at 27 that has carried me well.

“I am my own worst enemy”

He spent all his time blaming outside factors for his lack of success with women. Truth is, like most other issues, relationship/attraction problems are internal.

In a small small way I’m glad Barry is married to a black woman albeit a very intelligent and hot black woman. If he had been married to a white lady, be like waving a flag in front of a racist bull.

ETA: I know from friends, who are part of interracial couples, that they got looks and glares from folks in certain parts of the US America (ie: mostly in the South/Midwest.)

Not having read the news articles on this guy’s diaries, I guess I’m confused as to why the failure to include the comments on the first entry about Obama are so bad. This guy was not a member of the Adkisson Brigades. He writes derogatory stuff about religion and right wingers. I’m only about halfway though this, but he just seems like a guy who just let his fear of women make him crazy (literally).

CNN, at least, is noting that he began keeping a diary on November 5, 2008. Most people can probably put two and two together from there.

As for the meme of going berserk, it’s unfortunately universal see Montreal Massacre by Marc Lepine.

It only seems to be a US American thing only because of easier access to weapons with a high rate of fire and/or high magazine capacities (in Canada City, legal pistols are limited to 5 or 6 shots per mag not 15-21) and I suspect it’s also in part due to worse access to mental healthcare.

@ManchuCandidate: Yes, Lepine was mad at what he perceived as affirmative action excluding him from a place at the polytechnic, primarily, and females secondarily. And he was more overtly GI Joe, showing up in green fatigues to do the shooting, if I remember correctly. All of it is an exotic form of whining, in the end.

TJ: True San Francisco story: Somebody abandoned a total junker car in front of Mayor McDreamy’s driveway two days ago – and while for 24 hours there’s been a “THIS CAR WILL BE TOWED” notice on the front windshield of said hooptie car, the Dept of Parking & Transportation still hasn’t bothered to send a tow-truck out to tow the car, as of 7:30 am today. (I’m not a stalker, but I walk by his house on the way to and from work. ) And so the car continues to block one of his garages.

Abandoning the car almost rivals the gutterpunk who walked over from the Haight to take a shit on his front step the day after he and the Missus moved in.
