Anyway, after Barry called out McCain as a chickenshit (hi, Mom!) for not mentioning Ayers to his face last week, McCain is promising not to pal around this time. As long as Bob brings it up. See, Tom didn’t ask about it, that’s why McCain didn’t say anything. Never mind that he managed to announce a major economic program just seven minutes after the opening bell.

(No, not yesterday’s major economic program. The one before that. Don’t worry, he’ll have a new one next week.)

Sunday morning:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of McCain’s closest allies, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that the Arizona senator was weighing a plan “along the lines that now is the time to lower tax rates for investors — capital gains tax, dividend tax rates — to make sure that we can get the economy jump-started.”…

Graham said the campaign would discuss a plan Sunday, and he expected McCain to offer “a very comprehensive approach to jump-start the economy by allowing capital to be formed easier in America by lowering taxes.”

George W. Bush will be staging his next reading of My Pet Global Financial Meltdown at 10:25 a.m., his latest attempt to restore confidence in the system.

This will be Bush’s seventh such statement in ten days. The Dow has dropped 20.8 percent during his previous six attempts, for a Bush Index of minus 357 points per statement.
