Given the millions spent developing these cars, you’d think they’d be able to get the wheels to stay on:

While warming up yesterday for the Chinese Grand Prix, a massive suspension failure sent both front wheels of Sebastien Buemi’s F1 car rocketing off in opposite directions, leaving Buemi to stare at a wall he now can’t avoid.

As always, it burns:

The truth:

“[W]hile the U.S. government’s influence on American financial institutions has certainly increased since TARP — its ownership in any of the nation’s banks is paltry (6 percent of Bank of America and 7.8 percent of Citigroup as of early 2009, for example). And, it is helping the banks to get back on their feet while earning a profit for taxpayers.”

This is just bizarre – air travel (and other things) could be affected for weeks, or months:

Smoke and steam hangs over the volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland, Wednesday April 14, 2010, which has erupted for the second time in less than a month, melting ice, shooting smoke and steam into the air and forcing hundreds of people to flee rising floodwaters. Volcanic ash drifting across the Atlantic forced the cancellation of flights in Britain and disrupted air traffic across northern Europe, stranding thousands of passengers. Flights in and out of London Heathrow, Europe’s busiest airport, were halted, and the shutdowns and cancellations spread to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. The volcano’s smoke and ash poses a threat to aircraft because it can affect visibility, and microscopic debris can get sucked into airplane engines and can cause them to shut down.

Anything but the truth:

Make of that what you will … [dlisted]

Is there a chance the little fucker will be arrested?

LONDON (Reuters) – British author and atheist campaigner Richard Dawkins will try to have Pope Benedictarrested to face questions over the Catholic church’s child abuse scandal when he visits Britain later this year, one of his lawyers said Sunday.

Dawkins, a scientist and outspoken critic of religion, has asked human rights lawyers to examine whether charges could be brought against the pope.

Covering up child rape.  So Catholic.

This is from last week, but it’s worth a read as it reminds one how deeply ignorant most of our elite class is …

Since then, I have often wondered why nobody in Washington showed any interest in hearing exactly how I arrived at my conclusions that the housing bubble would burst when it did and that it could cripple the big financial institutions. A week ago I learned the answer when Al Hunt of Bloomberg Television, who had read Michael Lewis’s book, “The Big Short,” which includes the story of my predictions, asked Mr. Greenspan directly. The former Fed chairman responded that my insights had been a “statistical illusion.” Perhaps, he suggested, I was just a supremely lucky flipper of coins.

And Ayn Rand?  Fuck you.
