John Stossel to Fox News.

Remember John Stossel?  He brings the stupid like very few can.

Grocery insurance? That might be the stupidest thing ever.

But wait, there’s more:

Typical conservative – when confronted, he shits himself:

This is rich:

Mike Duvall now seems to be denying having affairs with the two women he was caught bragging about sleeping with.

His statement:

Assemblyman Duvall Denies Reports that He Had Affair

I want to make it clear that my decision to resign is in no way an admission that I had an affair or affairs. My offense was engaging in inappropriate story-telling and I regret my language and choice of words. The resulting media coverage was proving to be an unneeded distraction to my colleagues and I resigned in the hope that my decision would allow them to return to the business of the state.

He throws in details on her underwear, her age, and her birthday and expects to be taken seriously?  Seriously?

What a tool.

Duvall Denies “Reports That He Had an Affair” [TPM]

illegalsThe not-at-all-misleading caption reads: “Joe Wilson apologizes after shouting at Obama as he talked about insuring illegals.” Not that it makes any difference, of course, but Barack Obama’s exact words were:

“There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants… this too is false.”

Now, maybe I’m just a little dense here, but would it not have been more accurate to say that Obama was talking about not insuring illegals? It’s a fine distinction, to be sure, that which holds between doing something and not doing something. Consider, for instance, the practically trivial difference between “No, I have not been drinking” and “Why yes, officer, as a matter of fact, I have been drinking… heavily” or “there are not dead hookers buried in his back yard” and “there are dead hookers buried in his back yard.” But then again, maybe I’m just reading too much into it. After all, it’s not like Fox News is known for pushing misleading GOP propaganda as news, or anything.

You'll be stone dead in a moment.

Well, that was fun, wasn’t it? A whole month of wingnut hijinx, abetted by a near vacuum of response from what passes for our national leadership. Just ignore them, maybe they’ll go away.

And if they don’t, you can always schedule a grownup indoctrination session primetime speech to have the last word. Try not to say anything this time about police profiling in tony Boston suburbs. It’s very distracting.

Which brings us to another Open Thread/Día de los Muertos Festival to mark the historic occasion of the Fall of Hope. 9/9/9: Never forget.

This has been around for a while, but I want to make sure everybody sees this particular teabagger.
