General Disarray

14-1The news here is not that Tennessee has passed a law allowing gun possession in bars and restaurants.  The news is that there are still twelve entire states that do not allow American Patriots to carry a gun into the local Chili’s. That’s 12 stars we’re going to have to remove from the flag.

Additionally, the new law does not go far enough in ensuring American freedom, since it still forbids drinking while carrying a gun, just like the Koran! Tennessee’s Demorat Governor, Phil Bredesen, did veto the bill. He seems to think it’s unwise to have guns and alcohol in the same establishment. but he was overridden by the gun-loving Tennessee legislature, who subsequently went home to masturbate to pictures of Charlton Heston (May He Rest in Peace!).

roederThanks to reporting by  the New York Times, details have begun to emerge about the life and background of Scott Roeder, the Kansas man who murdered Dr. George R. tapesNancy Pelosi’s accusation that the CIA misled her in 2002 when she was briefed on the possible use of harsh interrogation techniques in connection with the war in Afghanistan has raised eyebrows among right-wing commentators and politicians:

The top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee is calling House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s accusation that the CIA misled her and others about waterboarding a massive attack on the nation’s intelligence community.

Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri on Friday contradicted Pelosi’s claim and called her criticism a tragedy. Bond said in a “Today” show interview that he reviewed the CIA’s material and it was clear that she had been informed about the enhanced interrogation method.

However, Bond said he was not with Pelosi when the spy agency briefed her.

Hysterical.  Professor Ed:

Best plagiarism story ever: guy copies paper directly off of a website (a simple cut-and-paste job) and subsequently submits a paper with html tags in the text. So at the end of paragraphs the reader would find phrases like [imgsrc=”nixon_main.jpg” align=”center”].

And yes, he actually had the nuts to argue with me about my shocking, tenuous conclusion that he had plagiarized.
