grassleywebI think he’s won the rest of the week (as well as twice today):

In an interview today on MSNBC’s “Morning Meeting with Dylan Ratigan,” Senate Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R) said he’d vote against any health-care reform bill coming out of the committee unless it has wide support from Republicans — even if the legislation contains EVERYTHING Grassley wants.

I have no words left.

GOP Support Most Important to Grassley [MSNBC]

grassleywebWhat is this, the third time in two weeks?

Grassley on public option: “The government is a predator, not a competitor.”

Our politicians are paid by health insurers to lie to us. And more people will die in the future if  there is no public option.

grassleywebIf he keeps winning, we may have to give him some sort of lifetime achievement award:

The questioner, Cheri Heiland, persisted, telling Grassley, “You know there is nothing in the House bill that will require any elderly person to stand before a committee and decide whether or not they are going to live or die.” Much of the crowd booed and said she was wrong.

The senator instead went on to condemn the idea of end-of-life counseling, no matter how it is structured.

“I think the best thing to do is if you want people to think about the end of life, number one, Jesus Christ is the place to start, and after that, in the physical life, as opposed to your eternal life, it ought to be done within the family and considered a religious and ethical issue and not something that politicians deal with,” he said.

I did not know Jesus offered health insurance.

Grassley is Inhofe stupid. He is Jon Kyl stupid. He is, in fact, Michelle Bachmann stupid.

Why are we ruled by religious morons?

grassleywebBack again this week, it’s Senator Chuck Grassley:

Americans should be scared of provisions in a health care bill currently in the U.S. House because it will allow the government to have a say in end-of-life decisions, Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley told a crowd of more than 300 Wednesday morning.

“In the House bill, there is counseling for end of life,” Grassley said. “You have every right to fear. You shouldn’t have counseling at the end of life, you should have done that 20 years before. Should not have a government run plan to decide when to pull the plug on grandma.”

If he keeps this shit up he might win Douchebag of the Month.

Grassley Scaremongers About Government ‘Pulling the Plug on Grandma’ [Think Progress]

grassleywebSenator Chuck Grassley:

GRASSLEY: In countries that have government-run health care, just to give you an example, I’ve been told that the brain tumor that Sen. Kennedy has — because he’s 77 years old — would not be treated the way it’s treated in the United States. In other words, he would not get the care he gets here because of his age. In other words, they’d say ‘well he doesn’t have long to live even if he lived another four to five years.’ They’d say ‘well, we gotta spend money on people who can contribute more to economy.’ It’s a little like people saying when somebody gets to be 85 their life is worth less than when they were 35 and you pull the tubes on them.

Teddy needs to cockpunch this GOP shitbag.

the wife is fittingly on the rightSenator David Vitter (R-LA):

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana slammed fellow Republican George Voinovich Wednesday for saying the GOP’s problems stem from the fact that it is “being taken over by Southerners,” calling the Ohio senator “a moderate, really wishy-washy.”

“I’m on the side of conservatives getting back to core conservative values,” Vitter told the Washington Times. “There are a lot of us from the South who hold those values, which I think the party is supposed to be about. We strayed from them in the past few years, and that’s why we performed so badly in the national elections.”

“[Voinovich is…] a moderate, really wishy-washy,” he said.

And yes, I am going to post this video once more:

looks like the man at the convenience store who tried to touch you when you were sixRep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX):

During the 30-minute interview about “nation ending stuff,” Gohmert used his opportunity on the [Alex] Jones show to showcase his own odd anti-Obama conspiracy theories:

GOHMERT: We’ve been battling this socialist health care, the nationalization of health care, that is going to absolutely kill senior citizensThey’ll put them on lists and force them to die early because they won’t get the treatment as early as they need. […] I would rather stop this socialization of health care because once the government pays for your health care, they have every right to tell you what you eat, what you drink, how you exercise, where you live.[…] But if we’re going to pay 700 million dollars like we voted last Friday to put condoms on wild horses, and I know it just says an un-permanent enhanced contraception whatever the heck that is. I guess it follows that they’re eventually get around to doing it to us.
