Title: “Fed Up!: Our Fight to Save America from Washington”

Author: Rick Perry

Rank: 414

Blurb: “We are fed up with being over-taxed and over-regulated. We are tired of being told how much salt to put on our food, what kind of cars we can drive, what kinds of guns we can own, what kind of prayers we are allowed to say and where we can say them, what we are allowed to do to elect political candidates, what kind of energy we can use, what doctor we can see. What kind of nation are we becoming? I fear it’s the very kind the Colonists fought against.”

Review: “Why write a political book and go on a national book tour if you aren’t running for President? That’s the common wisdom among reporters when it comes to Texas Governor Rick Perry. They apparently have not yet read this book. Perry grabs the supposed third rail of politics, Social Security, with his bare hands, calling it an insolvent Ponzi scheme.” (November 2010)

Customers Also Bought: “On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts Are Worth Fighting for”, by Rick Perry

Footnote: “I haven’t backed off anything in my book. Read the book again, get it right. Next question.”

Really? Over taxed and regulated?

One point the Rickster ignores is that its peers aka the economic engines of the “developed’ world, the US America is pretty near the bottom of the list in terms of taxation and regulation.

When you look at 2nd world/3rd world nations, then maybe he has a point but it seems to me that bobos like Ricky want to put US America in that group.

The Perries of the world and their sponsors are neomedievalists who hunger for a feudal order in which they are the petty despots, laughing hysterically from dawn to drunken night, shooting at the peasants from the castle walls.

Not for nothing, but I am reliably informed that Fox News had a segment recently where they were slagging off the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service as being a waste of money.

And, by recently, I mean THIS MORNING. As a hurricane hit the studios of Fox News.

It’s outrageous I can’t see any doctor I want!

Oh, wait — that has nothing to do with the government but that I don’t have the cash. Oh, yes, right, and also because I am female.

@chicago bureau: Reminds me of when this idiot criticized volcano monitoring right before Mt Redoubt blew.

People like Gov. Goodhair remind me why we’re worse off as a species now that we don’t have any “frontier” left. Back in the day, the standard response to his sort of logic was “GTFO, KTHXBAI”, and with any luck most of the “rugged individualists” got eaten by bears or starved to death…

@al2o3cr: If Perry gets elected (laugh, but remember when we thought W was unelectable?) I’m seriously going to get EU residency, somehow.

BREAKING – Hurricane Report from Upper West Side: nearly a quarter cup of water was blown into my apartment by high winds. The horror.

@blogenfreude: Turdblossom packaged Shrub for the Middle, whence “Compassionate Conservatism”. Deranger Rick is playing Right Field.

Oh, and Al won the popular vote.

Perry’s certainly a threat — unlike Bachmann — but he’s only a threat because the election is Obama’s to lose. I’m not gonna start worrying for another year.

Just went downstairs to take photos of the devastation to post here and … nothing. Breezy, no trees down, no windows out … nothing. Just people walking around as if nothing has happened.

Instead of churning out ghost-written books, I think the single best thing Gov. Perry could do to save the US would be to personally secede and go live in an unregulated country like Somalia or Afghanistan. I’m sure if he really worked hard he’d be a warlord in a matter of weeks.
