Frothy Mixtures

If there’s one thing I like it’s a nice song.

Fortunately, this is not a nice song.

“We are seeing the fabric of this country fall apart, and it’s falling apart because of single moms.” —Rick Santorum in a February 1994 campaign appearance. A month later: “What we have is moms raising children in single-parent households simply breeding more criminals.” [Mother Jones]

Rick Santorum reveals his battered collegehood: “There are schools, I went to one — Penn State — that’s one of the liberal icons, unfortunately it’s gotten a lot worse. I can tell you professor after professor who docked my grades because of the viewpoints I expressed and the papers that I wrote, there’s no question that happened.” [Philly.com, via @KeithOlbermann]

“If you read President Kennedy’s text, while there were certainly some very important things and good things he said in that, there were some things that triggered in my opinion the privatization of faith, and I think that’s a bad thing.” [ThinkProgress]

Mrs. Frothy Mix explains how the Lord guided Mr. Lube & Fecal Matter to run for Preznident of These United States:

“I did always feel in my heart that God had big plans for Rick. Eventually it was there, tugging at my heart. When Obamacare passed, that was it. That put the fire in my belly.”

“Fire in my belly”? Finally, an excuse to run that Santorum video we missed the first time.

“We think, well, you know, it’ll get better. Yeah, he’s a nice guy. I mean, it won’t be near as bad as what we think. This will be okay. I mean, yeah, maybe he’s not the best guy after a while. After a while you find out some things about this guy over in Europe who’s not so good of a guy after all, but ya know what, why do we need to be involved? We’ll just take care of our own problems.” [CNN]

Rick Santorum would like to change the subject: “You know, [reporters] sit there and they say nothing, while for 20 years [President Obama] sits in a church with a guy who is a racist. And somehow or another Foster Friess is now who I am? This is just crap.” [NRO, via TPM]
