Happy 75th Birthday!

I hate heights and would never ever ever think about walking across it, but driving across it was most certainly fun. Much more enjoyable than spending $15 US America for a Po’boy Sandwich at Fisherman’s Wharf (although the submarine there was a good waste of an 1 1/2 hours.)

Love reading the stories (like the Manhattan Bridge) about how when they’re done repainting it they have to start again.

@ManchuCandidate: Terrified of heights, but walking across this bridge isn’t so bad. It takes a few minutes to get used to the vibration, and then it’s cool. Just don’t do it at sundown (if HLS still closes it after dark). You might end up on one side, and your car is in a parking lot on the other, and you can’t get to it.

@Beggars Biscuit: Frightened the shit out of me. As does the replacement, which uses a honeycomb metal grid to let the high winds pass through. If you drive over it, you can see all the way down. And it’s a long way.

@blogenfreude: I watched the first episode but I’m watching the “new” Dr. Who and I’m only to the middle of season 3. I have kind of mixed feelings about David Tennant. I love Captain Jack. Survivors is at the top of the queue when this is done.
