Live Long & Prosper! [Nichelle Nichols]

Y’know, she’s just short enough to have her right hand resting firmly on the Presidential buttocks. Which might explain his smile.

@Dodgerblue: She looks awesome.

I predict this post will pull our Super Trekkie baked out of hiding.

P.S. Awesome alt-text.

@ManchuCandidate: Just noticed she’s wearing the red uniform. Does not bode well for her, unless that only happened in the original series.

Her uniform in the series was red. “Red is Dead” didn’t apply to her or Scotty.

Plus, she was sportin’ the bluetooth headset decades before anyone else. (Or decades after everyone else, but still.)

@matador1015: And she is the only one in the history of time that could, now does, and will ever, pull off the bluetooth earpiece.

@ManchuCandidate: Red meant that they were part of the security branch of star fleet. Which is prolly why redshirts died so often.

@Tommmcatt Wears A Hoodie Daily:
Yellow/Gold is for Command/helms
Blue for Sciences/Medical
Red for Starship Operations including Security.

OMG, I’ve exposed my inner Star Trek Nerd.

/cries among his Star Trek novels, role playing games and models/

@ManchuCandidate: Until Star Fleet shifted everything a generation later.

Also: Green is for Pre-Girdle Captains.

@Benedick: This Is The Postmodernism They Warned You About: A Star Trek post followed by a Nabokov post.

@nojo: I was discussing with my wofe this morning the superiority of The Flintstones over The Jetsons.

@Dodgerblue: That’s “wife.” The edit feature appears to be broken.

@Dodgerblue: You on Windows? I have to fix that some day…

@Dodgerblue: Really? But I use that all the time, and I take care of myself first.

Then again, I have the Full Admin Comment Tools when I use it. I’ll have to see whether the Civilian Version is fucked up.

@nojo: Tried a third time, still no go. What I’m seeing is a little box squashed into the upper left corner of the screen. In the past when using the edit function, I would see my post in more or less its normal orientation across the screen. Might be time to change the newspaper in the hamster cages.

But I can edit you from the StinquePad, so the problem must be with the Civilian Edit Button.

@nojo: I have the same trouble on iPhone Safari but not on Atomic Web.

@SanFranLefty: A looong time ago, I took my youngest brother to hear Eartha Kitt read children’s stories. I was in heaven. He was like, “Can I get my face painted now? And I wanna balloon.”

@SanFranLefty: righto Lefty.
though i’m impressed Barry speaks Vulcan, he won’t have the chance to use it much because the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

your wordscraper turn, Lefty!

@baked: Dude. Do you use that Skype business anymore?

The Peacekeeper troops in the Hunger Games movie wore white unis and body armor, which made them look like Imperial Stormtroopers.

@baked: I’m making my move! And Dodger hopefully has access to something besides his Civilian iPad and can access wordscraper.

@redmanlaw: Is the movie worth the hype? I haven’t read the books, but everyone I know who has loved them.

@redmanlaw: Is Peacekeeper an Orwellian turn of phrase or are they actually the good guys?

@SanFranLefty: I enjoyed the hell out of it. I went in cold, never read any of the books or read reviews or spoilers online.

@mellbell: They’re Jack Booted Government Thugs (JBT on RW blogs).

The Colt Peacekeeper was a classic revolver of the frontier days, btw, and a modern version is still in production.

@Lost in the Negative Space: why yes i would you know that?
i just figured out you’re JNOV…
does everyone know this already?
is it reefer madness?
