And while we’re at it, to hell with Cuba. Let’s see how all those Ford Taurus (Tauri?) hold up in 50 years once we’ve closed down our Embassy and all the brothels sugar mills.

@ManchuCandidate:

Does “seriously disassociated from reality” count as “serious”? What about “seriously mentally ill”? ;)

What do you people want from her? She just now learned that we have 49 states now.

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: She’s only including Alaska because of Talibunny. Hawaii’s the home of the Kenyan Usurper, and doesn’t count.

The regression is amazing – in the 60s and 70s we didn’t have great politicians running for office, but at least they weren’t idiots.

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: Wait, you mean the Arizona Territory and Injun Country is a state now?

@SanFranLefty: New Mexico has never quite fallen into that whole “part of the Union” mentality.

@blogenfreude:Dude – Johnson ran in 68 and he was a hell of a politician. I’m partial also to Fred Harris who ran in 76(?) but dude had no base besides Oklahoma and Indian tribes nationwide. I had him for a class back when I was an undergrad and since then I’ve gotten to know him and his family. Cool fuckin’ dude. Helped score some ancestral lands for my tribe that was a Very Big Deal. Him and Nixon. You could almost make a Neil Young song out of it.

@redmanlaw: Oregon has “The Union” in its state seal (arf!). Might have something to do with what was preoccupying folks in 1859.
