Yes and no.

There was a study done in Canada City about the wealth/education of the supporters of the three major parties.

It was found that Right Wingers were perceived to have more money as a group but they found that most of them were rather poor per capita and their money was concentrated in the hands of a few (much like today’s global economy.) And shockingly, the least educated per capita.

The Libruls (Canada City centrists) were found to be the richest per capita, but the wealth was spread out and not really concentrated in the hands of a few. Highest educated per capita.

The NDP (left wing) were per capita poor and educated.

I don’t know how it translates to US America, but I suspect that there is a similar divide.

The two tricks American Plutocrats play are (1) feigning interest in fundie social issues, and (2) making their financial position “aspirational”.
