In the Night Bitchin’

Title: “Go the Fuck to Sleep”

Authors: Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortés

Rank: 1

Blurb: “Profane, affectionate, and radically honest, California Book Award-winning author Adam Mansbach’s verses perfectly capture the familiar — and unspoken — tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night.”

Review: “How sad that this is found to be entertaining to people. People wonder why there are foul-mouthed kids running around? Moral decay is right… I would never buy this or have it in my home. We actually find better ways to express ourselves other than using the F* word… it is actually ignorant to use that all the time.”

Samuel L. Jackson was an inspired choice for the audiobook.

So many parents have had this thought, me among them.

@Dodgerblue: Hope you had a nice father’s day, Dodger. (And the rest of you Stinquer dads).

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: Werner Herzog also does a reading. Delightfully creepy.

@SanFranLefty: Very nice, thanks. My younger daughter is at home for a few weeks, and my older daughter remembered to text me [shakes head]. Last year, the girls gave me the coolest FD gift ever — a game of catch in the park (the baseball kind). For back- to-childhood pleasure, it’s hard to beat throwing the ball around.

@Dodgerblue:

Well, your daughters are very lucky to have you as their dad.

@matador1015: Oh! He’s a nut! What’s that movie where he damn near kills everyone in the jungle trying to drag a fucking ship up a steep hill?

@JNOV knows Sport: Fitzcaraldo?

ADD: while blaring Caruso from the foredeck.

@flypaper: YUP! The unintentionally hilarious documentary is Burden of Dreams. I think that’s why Herzog started fucking with people like Timothy Treadwell, but Tim kinda had it coming. ::BURP::

That doc Herzog did about the folks in Antarctica blew. He also narrated an episode of The Boondocks. It was about how disappointed blacks folks were with Obama.

@JNOV knows Sport: He also seemed slightly baked on a recent epi of the Colbert Show.

Hey! Somebody’s panties are in one of the elevators. Maybe they were washing clothes.

@JNOV knows Sport: Apocalypse Now.

No, wait. Wrong jungle.
