My brother-in-law, an evangelical Xtian Repub who also happens to be a high school teacher in SW Indiana, is EXTREMELY angry at the governor for calling teachers “leeches”. Or maybe it was “bloodsucking leeches”. Anyway, this is affecting their base in ways the teabagging politicians didn’t consider, since they evidently don’t consider anything at all.

In sympathy to the oppressed public sector workers in their home state, the University of Wisconsin Badgers basketball team showed their solidarity with a work stoppage in the first half of their tournament game last night. After falling behind by over 20 points to Butler, the Butler team also went on strike and the game ended with both teams standing around while random scabs walked onto the court throwing an occasional ball through the hoop. Another great moment in the history of labor.

Homofascist and I had beers in an Irish bar yesterday when we had to be moved from our spot right by the fire for some SDSU alums who had reserved the area. So even though I picked SDSU, that annoyed me. We were just stoked to see the sex-free Moronis losing.
