Couldn’t happen to a nicer cockroach killer

Bitching about charges, Grinning with a shit eater.
Lobbyist cocksucker, partisan asshole,
Tom, you been a naughty boy you got caught by a Dem.
He is the Bugman, they are the lawmen.
Now is the Convict, goo goo g’joob.

Anyone else old enough to remember when Nixon’s Atty General John Mitchell went to jail? That was a good day.

What a day. See you about martini:30.

@Dodgerblue: I am … didn’t Liddy serve time as well? Now if only we could convict Addington, Cheney, Perle, et al.

@redmanlaw: On VT 2.0 and getting ready to do a duck tomorrow – more on that later.

If there’s a heaven, Molly Ivins is looking down on Austin right now with a bourbon in hand laughing that gorgeous booming laugh of hers….

@SanFranLefty: Remember what she said – Texas has only one election law, and DeLay managed to break it.

@blogenfreude: yeah, a few of the Nixon drones did, but for me the most satisfying perp walk was John Mitchell.

@blogenfreude: Ah, a state law conviction. I didn’t know that. Then, very low probability of the US Supremes bailing him out.

@blogenfreude: Mid-way through the prosecution they switched the charge from conspiring to break the campaign finance law to money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

What’s really sad is that in the intervening few years, the rest of the right-wing has managed to make DeLay look like a sane and rational individual with reasonable beliefs.

@Dodgerblue:
Regarding Dodgerblue’s comment: “Ah, a state law conviction. I didn’t know that. Then, very low probability of the US Supremes bailing him out”
@SanFranLefty:
Ms. Lefty can you comment on the likely hood of his winning an appeal in a Texas court? Would his appeal be in a state or fed court? Either way one’s glee maybe premature. Celebration should only begin once he is in a striped jail jumper.

@texrednface: I don’t practice law in the Lone Star State, but given what I do know from my friends who are Texas attorneys about the elected judges in the Court of Appeal and the Texas Supreme Court, I am not confident that justice will be upheld on appeal.

And even assume the judgment survives, his sentence range is from probation to 99 years. I think we’d be lucky to get 30 days.

AND that won’t undue the destruction he wrecked in 2002-03, and how it resulted in fucking over Lloyd Doggett and eventually unseating my Congressional boyfriend Chet Edwards.

All that said, I raised my martini glass and chortled in his honor tonight.

Since the DeLay case has finally been resolved with a state conviction, I think a Get Out of Jail Free card from the governor will make a perfect gift this holiday season. Praise Jesus!

@SanFranLefty: Yeah, the sentencing is the part that chaps my ass. “Deterrence” is only a consideration when sentencing rabble.

@blogenfreude: Re the duck – are you planning to set up a Turkey Day Food Pron open thread so all of the regular Stinquers and lurquers can post their favorite recipes? I was thinking of setting it up for tomorrow morning unless you or Fearless Leader had something similar already planned…

We don’t ever think he’ll go to jail do we?

@SanFranLefty: Alas, “Nojo’s Favorite Holiday Nuke Recipes” won’t be finished in time for publication.

@SanFranLefty: Thank you.
He will never see the inside of a prison. The most severe penalty will be the $10,000 dollar fine. Though it would be nice to see him in an orange vest picking trash on I-35 and to yell at him out the car window.

I ran across this little tidbit while researching a rumor he was thinking of running for Senate in 2012: Tom was known as “Hot Tub” Tom for his drinking and partying ways in the 80’s before he was “born again”
Imagine sitting in a hot tub with Tom DeLay former exterminator.

@texrednface: “Imagine sitting in a hot tub with Tom DeLay former exterminator.”

Darling, there ain’t enough Clorox in a pipe directly from corporate headquarters in Oakland to wash that thought out of my head…

I think we’re missing the real story. The lady who played Marilyn in The Munsters was the trial judge. I always wondered what became of her.

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: STFU!?!?!

Only in Tejas….

Trying to sneak peppers into Mr. SFL’s stuffing…

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: .Sorry, chica. This Pat Priest is a dude

I saw that Eddie (Butch Patrick) just had his ass sent off to rehab. I think there was some DWI or violins or something involved.

UPDATE: New Mexico State Police have arrested a 34-year-old Santa Fe man they believe had sex with a teenage boy he met while working as a volunteer coordinator for a youth-ministry group at a local Catholic church.

Investigators have confirmed that additional charges related to other victims will be forthcoming.

@SanFranLefty: In NotTibet I have a serious case of stomach flu/bad wateritis, meaning that I’ve had to turn down two friendly invites to a turkey dinner. I board a plane in nine hours and probably won’t have anything more in my intestines than a little yogurt – and whatever TSA may offer on landing in Chi-town. Pity me.

@SanFranLefty:oh, is that what they’re calling it these days?

Enjoy your drumsticks, breasts and thighs, stinquers and stinquettes!

@Benedick: Sadly, no. But at least he’s been given some serious grief about his misdeeds.

This is all a liberal conspiracy and he’ll come out of it better than ever. In fact, I bet it enhances his chance when he runs for president or whatever.

Sad news: Raging Monk’s daughter was admitted to an eating disorders hospital. Please keep them in your prayers.

@SanFranLefty: Putting up a 2-post recipe challenged re: the duck (I call him Donald), so that can serve as a thread. If anyone has food photos, send ’em to blogenfreude@www.stinque.com and I’ll post.

@blogenfreude: I have a great image I just found to illustrate an open thread. Sending it to you now.
