“I am not a crook” would have been a great ringtone.

Sarah Palin Wants Levi Johnston To Disappear

Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston shocked the world when they announced they were engaged again. The on-again, off-again couple seemed happy despite Sarah Palin’s obvious disapproval of their reunion. It’s no surprise considering her future son-in-law has betrayed and bad-mouthed the Palin clan on numerous occasions. According to a Palin insider, Sarah has already threatened him if he ever messes with her family again.

“Levi did everything he could to destroy Sarah and her family. He has accused Sarah of being a bad mother, a bad wife and a bad leader. How can he walk back into their life like nothing happened? He should think again,” a Palin insider tells me. “He may have won Bristol back, but he will never gain the trust of Sarah. She doesn’t forgive and forget.”

But it all comes back to politics. A Republican insider tells me Sarah is worried that her loose-lipped son-in-law will continue to ruin her political career and the public’s perception of the Palin family.

@Capt Howdy:
Ha.

Note to Talibunny… you don’t need Levi to ruin your “career” or reputation. You do an awesome job of it on your own.

Ex-CEO dumbass who killed my former employer.

Enjoying a rather bitter shot of schadenfreude ’08.

“Chiefs with controversies on their resumes face high hurdles. Mike Z left Bankrupted Idiots. last August amid a dismantling of the fallen technology giant following a bankruptcy-court filing. He prefers to lead another large business and has prepared a detailed, two-page chart of his career financial-“feats”, according to someone familiar with the matter.

Mr. Z spent more than three years trying to turn Bankrupt Idiots around, but critics say he didn’t move fast enough. Its bankruptcy hurts his job hunt, according to recruiters. ”

Edited to protect the stupid and shameful with editorial quotes added.

@Capt Howdy:

Next week’s Us magazine cover will feature a panicked Bristol silently mouthing “HELP ME!” moments before the trap door drops her into the shark tank.

just saw this comment about Cheneys new lease on life.

However, he will have to carry a card indicating that even though he doesn’t have a pulse, he is not dead.

How about Ronnie Regan?

“I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.”

I have returned from court! (well, 3.5 hours ago, but ‘work’ got in the way).

First impression, I have never seen so much security in the federal courthouse. Marshals, marshals everywhere, most of them tall drinks of water. Even the U.S. Marshal for AZ was present, sitting near the judge.

@ManchuCandidate:

Makes me want to start up a web-based employment firm for ex-CEOs just so I can call the smug bastards back and yell, “Well, guess you better start looking for a lower-paying job, FUCKERS!” :)

But not to worry – I’m sure that, motivated by the WSJ article, Boner and co. will soon have a new unemployment extension bill ready: unlimited weeks of unemployment for anyone who cleared at least $500k/yr previously, paid for by reducing food stamp payments.

Unrelated, but linked from that article: Does this piss anybody else off? The Repukes are going to be all over this, convincing Joe Teabag that he needs to give them the power to keep dead millionaires away from taxes.

Just saw the rest of William Wyler’s The Big Country. OMFG. What a superb movie. If you haven’t seen it you owe it to yourself. Why is it not right at the top of everyone’s best movie ever made list?

@TJ/ Jamie Sommers /TJ: I can only imagine how many threats that have been made against the attorneys and the judge.

@Tommmcat Still Gets Carly Confused With Meg: The first of the lawsuits against SB1070. This one was filed by a Phoenix police officer and Chicanos Por La Causa. I’d go into the whole argument, if you want to hear it, but I’m sure the following nuggets will give you an idea where this one is going.

— Judge Bolton only asked questions of plaintiff’s counsel on the motion to dismiss for lack of standing. Plaintiff’s final argument on that was “if you find standing on any of the plaintiffs in any of the 6 suits, you should grant standing to all plaintiffs.”

— Plaintiff kept mentioning things outside the record, especially arguments and affidavits filed by the feds in their brief.

— The judge kept coming back to one case, cited by the defendants, and asking both parties about it. (Don’t have my notes with me so I can’t tellyou which one that is)

However! During the arguments on the motion for preliminary injunction, one ray of hope was this question from the judge. We know that states cannot enact their own version of the Alien Registration Act. There have been cases explicitly stating that. So, if you’re (defendant) arguing that this state law simply makes it a state crime to violate that federal law, aren’t you in essence making an end run around that prohibition?

@SanFranLefty: There were a couple dozen protesters outside the courthouse, of course. And nearly as many PPD to watch over them. Unfortunately, they didn’t separate the camps because they were in each other’s faces, yelling, as I walked past to enter the courthouse.

In other news, Jan Brewer still fucking that beheaded chicken: http://bit.ly/axCZKv
