Stand Down, Scrabble Freaks

No, they’re not changing the rules, just spawning a demon: “Mattel, which owns the rights to Scrabble in England, is going to release a completely new version of the game there called Scrabble Trickster, in which anything goes, including the use of proper nouns, spelling words backwards, stealing letters, and so on.” [CNet]

Tricky indeed! Mellbell family rules have always allowed for swapping tiles with other players, but stealing tiles? That’s a horse of a different color.

For some reason I predict that Scrabble Trickster nights will go as well as “Flipping the Monopoly board after landing on Boardwalk with a hotel for the 2nd time” Nights.

Have they incorporated the Queensbury Rules in with the new Scrabble Trickster Rules?

Finally! A game where I can use the word “fantom” without a bunch of whining from the uninformed.

That reminds me — baked, it’s your turn.
