It’s apparent to some Hill denizens that Mazza’s resignation citing his use of inappropriate ‘salty language’ among his staffers was, in Nixonian parlance, a ‘limited hang-out’ to obscure his wanton, cackling hunger for the unlimited whip-it-out.

@FlyingChainSaw:

Look at you with your Tricky Dick Lingo.

Does this seem like a lot of smoke and no fire to anybody else? Massa’s pathetic attempts to derail the issue notwithstanding, even if the groping is true, it’s not a criminal matter per se. Maybe he’ll get censured. But all this fuss…over what, exactly?

This is my office, this is my staff. This one’s working. This one’s for fun.

@Tommmcatt Say Relax: Probably he gave 15 of his staffers rectal gonorrhea and he is taking off before the news breaks.

I thought the same thing – surely being a total toolbag to staff members isn’t enough to get kicked out of Congress. The quick resignation with the constantly changing story smells funny…

Well, at least the New York Times is providing some much-needed context:

A Republican who switched to the Democratic Party because of his opposition to the Iraq war, Mr. Massa lost in his first try to win the House seat in 2006.

This explains him being in the closet.
