Douchebag of the Day

George Stephanopoulos, who doesn’t even bother to remind Mayor Shithead that, among other things, 9/11 and the shoe bomber happened on the Boy King’s watch.

Stephanopoulos, attempting to save a bit of face, takes to his blog to point out that Giuliani had a little memory lapse – and gets taken to task in the comments for his failure. I suggested he retire.

@Tommmcatt is hunkered down in the trenches: Steele is one of the go-to guys for GOP stupid – we need him. He’ll probably get fired next week, and that will be a great loss.

A noun, a verb, and senility.

@blogenfreude:

If they fire him even better, for there will be total chaos as they go into the 2010 elections…imagine the in-fighting over who would run the party.

A consummation devoutly to be wished.

@Tommmcatt is hunkered down in the trenches: They’ll probably replace him with a suit who won’t say anything controversial – they guy they should have hired in the first place.

@Tommmcatt is hunkered down in the trenches: And this would be different from the current state of affairs how?

@blogenfreude:

Yes, but which suit? There’s the rub…there’s no unity of purpose on that side- even worse, IMHO, than on the Dem’s side. They’ll bicker over that like a bunch of toddlers.

@karen marie: Extra schadenfreude for us.

MSNBC chyron: Obama’s “Wimpy” Foreign Policy

OT: consider the “Hot Chicks With …” shark jumped.

The conservative ideology concerning the proper role of government, their firmly held beliefs on policies regarding taxation and the proper role of gubmint, has turned into a djinn bottle and disappeared up its own asshole, where no actual officeholder can follow.

When all taxes are slavery, and all gubmint regulations are tyranny, then noone who has actually held office will be able to pass the purity test. All officeholders at some time have voted for a “budget” under which the gubmint has provided “services.” Commies, all of them.

No, now that the Teabagger ideology has become the dominant force in republican politics, only someone who knows nothing whatsoever (no taint of “elite” education), and who has never done anything whatsoever (any accomplishment within the existing system would make them a hated “establishment republican) is pure enough to lead them.

The conservative movement is actively seeking a leader stupider than Bush, less accomplished than Palin (and stupider than Palin, too.) They are playing Limbo, lowering the bar, lower and lower, until only the most ignorant and incompetent can get under it, and when finally, they realize that they already found their hero, Joe the Plumber, they will return and embrace him. I see it as inevitable.
