Yeah, OK… how about focusing on the “economic power” part of that equation, now? For decades we’ve sat back and allowed the military industrial complex to flourish and leech valuable resources from our tax base, while our industrial base withered and fully 1/6 of our economy was engaged in settling outlandish, unproductive health care costs.

Hell, soon I expect 1/6 of our economy to consist of hollow, right-wing paperback rants.

I weep for the waste of trees. Paper that could be better used as, say, toilet paper or Maxim.
