Lefty, you scooped me on this one. I loved the show.
@Dodgerblue: It was the best, and quite groundbreaking.
The only chink I ever saw in Don Cornelius’ armor was when he had contemporary gospel artists on his show. Apparently he was a fan of traditional music, because he never failed to make some snide remark about his preferences in front of said artists.
I bring this up as the sole indication that he was troubled enough to take his own life.
May he rest in peace, love, and soul.
