Lady Thatcher Sang a Song of Darkness and Disgrace

“Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.” —An “ally” to Thatcher on Palin’s wish for a visit. [Guardian UK]

What odds Palin shows up at the unveiling and starts humping Thatcher’s leg for a photo op?

@FlyingChainSaw: you know she’ll be there. maybe she’ll start ringing bells and firing warning shots if any redcoats show up. hopefully the redcoats will retaliate and of course the french navy will not show up to bail her out.

I never thought of it before, but it is true. While I hold an incredibly low opinion of Margaret Thatcher (remember the poll tax? Talk about a perversion of government!), said opinion is still higher than the one I hold of the Talibunny.

Sounds like Caribou Barbie’s ride to warn the British she was armed worked.

Surely she’s Baroness Thatcher. So she’s Lady Margaret, Baroness Thatcher. ‘Lady Thatcher’? Who were they talking to? The char woman? Not that one cares but still. Fair do.

As soon as I saw this I knew you would post it …

@Benedick HRH KFC: thought you were Canadian.

@blogenfreude: Am I that boring? (note to manchu, not you, darling, the other Canadians)

@Benedick HRH KFC: hey – we get most of our comedians from Canada.

@blogenfreude: And they work cheaper than American comedians.

This may be my favorite mix of Amazon offers yet: A biography of Thatcher, a noir-ish mystery called “The Case of the Frightened Lady”, VHS tape of “Lady Godiva” with Maureen O’Hara, and the video of “Sarah, Plain and Tall.”

@Mistress Cynica: +1. Does it also have the Hemlock’s Society’s Guide to Offing oneself? My fave bedtime reading. Hint: It’s very important to wash down the barbiturates with a couple of stiffish drinkies before putting the plastic bag over one’s head. You’re welcome.

@nojo: And plus, unless you’re nice to me I will tell you what Canadian ‘actors’ are called by film crews who got to TO and have to pretend it’s NYC. It isn’t pretty.
