Gray Lady Correction of the Day

A series of pictures last Sunday of covers of the magazine Tiger Beat, with an article about how the original teen-girl tabloid has remained virtually unchanged since its inception in 1965, erroneously included a parody cover, produced by the satiric newspaper The Onion, that featured a picture of President Obama.

Would have been even better if they had included the Super Love and Kisses issue with the Win a Dream Date with Ox contest.

Applauding causes milk to be ejected from my nose. Did they post this under corrections? Someone is in big trouble. I read the release, which was on the White House website, when it stated ‘(laughter).” Now, I see that it has been changed to “(applause).” But what is the truth? Did the White House just doctor the transcript to mislead the public? Or was a mistake originally made in the transcript? If the former, this information should be blasted all over the place.
