Appliances Are People Too

Rand Paul, Master Logician: “I think there should be some self-examination from the Administration on the idea that you favor a woman’s right to an abortion, but you don’t favor a woman or a man’s right to choose what kind of light bulb, what kind of dishwasher, what kind of washing machine.” [TPM]

Seems like Randy’s been worshiping Aqua Buddha again.

From early reports, it sounded like a straight-up “FU UNIONS” bill. On closer examination, it’s much much worse.

My favorite bit:

Wetlands – Gives tax preference to municipalities who convert existing wetlands to non-wetland parcels. In addition, such areas would also be exempt from water quality standards applicable to wetlands, provided that area is used for business.

Dodger can probably offer an opinion as to *how* stupid that is, but it just reinforces my opinion that there must be some Republican higher-ups that can’t get an erection without despoiling the environment (see also ANWR, etc)…

He’s very plausible. Very plausible. If you don’t scratch beneath the surface. Which Jon (we spell it ‘John’ in the part of America that counts) Stewart refused to do while he was helping Rance to pimp ‘his’ book. (Let’s hope that whoever ‘wrote’ it got a good share of the gross. Also, who are the agents who pimp out Republican ‘thinkers’ with their thoughts? Might I leave my CV here?)

But srsly. WTF. Why does Stewart push Rance into the mainstream? He does this repeatedly. So does Colbert. Why? With librals like this we don’t need no Carl Rove. We got ya covered dough boy.

So don’t anyone complain when president Obama seems to tack to the right. He learned it from the Daily Show.

As I might have commented before: Where is the Fucking ANGER.

K. I will now go pay my union dues. And my health insurnce: $2,200 per quarter.

Thought for the day: Why is it that professional America thinks it’s better than hands-on working America? Is it sweat?

@Benedick Stands Firm (9inches): Occasionally we get to eat the food upper management leaves behind after a lunch. That’s why.

Note to the Stinque legal team: Scalia is 75 today.

@Dodgerblue: We pay for the best health care for him – he’ll live forever.

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One: Get on your knees and hack the coal from the face. It’s dark. You’re sweating. Morgan up ahead is pulling off his shirt to display his glistening muscles. You can’t help but wonder what’s in those corduroy trousers. That’s what trade unions are about.

@Benedick Stands Firm (9inches): Dodger is coming along nicely, isn’t he? Soon I will teach him “jazz hands”.

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One: Hey, want to see some hot guys in polyester? I’ve got 10 Dodger games this year through my ticket group, 4 tix/game. You and Cassandra?

@Dodgerblue: My god, Dodger, there isn’t enough lukewarm beer in the world. I appreciate the thought, though. We must go to some events at the bowl though.

Hey, want to go for a bike ride Saturday? Hit me up in the clubhouse…a friend and I are going to do 40 out of West Hollywood.

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One: Polyester? As if there could be anyone hot doing sport ball. Never fear, as Sarah Palin might say, I am going to eat chinese with Dodge on the UWS. I will show him jazz hands. We will swap memories of fave Angela Lansbury perfs and little known Sondheim songs. Hey old friend, Whada you say, old friend.. I will pull him back from the beige side. I need that toaster.

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One: My Gahd, IanJ and Nojo weren’t enough for your homosekshual agenda?! Now you’re putting your claws into Dodger?

@Dodgerblue: Scalia has antifreeze running through his veins. He’ll outlast Thomas and Roberts.

@SanFranLefty: What can I say? After the toaster it’s a transistor radio.

@Benedick Stands Firm (9inches): Yeah, well, good luck with Chainsaw and Nabisco. They will stand firm.
So to speak.

Breaking TJ: Japan’s coast kinda inundated by 7.9 magnitude-quake-generated tsunami. No warnings for the US coast, but Tokyo’s in trouble.

@IanJ: Looks bad. Waiting for SFL to check in.

@Dodgerblue: @IanJ: 8.9, with a series of quakes in between 6.9 and 7.4. Mr. SFL is going to be busy.

Ah, CNN was reporting 7.9. Holy crap, 8.9. That’s huge. What does Mr. SFL do?

@IanJ: He’s a gubmint rock jock, I think.

I’m signed up for notices whenever there are tremors above 6.0 in Asia, and they’ve been coming in like every two minutes from there.

Here’s the surf report. Cali looks fine, but Hawaii may get water.
