A judge in Italy has ordered Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to stand trial in April on charges that he paid an underage girl for sex, and then abused his office by interfering in a police arrest of the young woman. The trial will be heard by a panel of three judges — all women.

Best news story I’ve seen on the issue. No surprise, it’s from al Jazeera.

“The Joke never ends.” He calls himself, “The most persecuted man in the entire history of the world.”

@jwmcsame: Burlosconi is obviously heeding the ’70s-era words of the late Rep. “Good Time” Charlie Wilson (D-TX), “You can teach them to type but you can’t teach them to grow tits.”

It’s the real life version of the “I’d Buy that For A Dollar” Guy from RoboCop combined with a movie excubot and a fascist asshole.

Bill Clinton’s lady issues are chickenshit compared to Silvio.

Meanwhile, in other cheerful Department of Lady Bits news that I don’t have time to make regular posts, CBS News reporter Lara Logan was “the victim of a brutal and sustained sexual assault” by a mob of approximately 200 men in Cairo on Friday.

You’d think he’d be more pissed about his photo appearing in the dictionary under “Eurotrash.”

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One: According to this article, a 2008 study found that 83% of Egyptian women and 98% of foreign women visitors experienced sexual harassment.

Mobs can be dangerous for anyone, bottom line.
