Making the Senate Safe for Democracy

“Still more good news for filibuster reform: Harry Reid is in active discussions with his caucus about moving forward with reform in the new year, and is currently devising a plan to do just that.” All returning Demrat Senators have signed a vague pledge for reform. [WaPo]

vague pledge for reform.

That sounds about right.

How many minutes will it take Mitch to use his instant filibuster on even a vague pledge for reform? Could Harry at least begin to force the loyal opposition to use their valuable fund-raising time holding the Senate hostage on C-SPAN instead of letting the process be completely invisible?

Something about closing some door, barn and horse
