There Better Not Be Jar-Jar Binks in a Manger

While D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood has its Festivus Pole and annual Airing of Grievances, suburban Loudoun County may be winning in the “Most Inclusive at Winter Solstice Time” contest.

The ABA Journal reports that the county courthouse in Leesburg is hosting not one, not two, but ten seasonal displays, because of a county policy that the first ten people or groups to apply for a permit get a holiday display.

As a result, according to the Loudoun Times, while there’s no menorah or Festivus Pole, there’s a Christmas tree, two manger scenes, four atheist posters, a Christian poster, a “Letter from Jesus” written by a non-believer, and best of all, a tribute to Luke Skywalker and the Tenets of Jediism, the religion of Star Wars. But wait, if Luke is the chosen one, and James Earl Jones is the voice of Darth Vader, does that mean God is a black man?

Seasons Greetings!

Away in a manger,
No force for His bed
The massive Lord Vader
Laid down His black head

Death Stars in the bright sky
Looked down where He slay
The massive Lord Vader
Crushed all in his way
