This just in from the Stinque Emailbag:

Donate $3 now to be automatically registered for a chance to win a trip to meet President Obama backstage in Las Vegas.

Is Zach Galifianakis filming a sequel? Because that totally sounds like a high-concept premise.

The email I got from Barry this morning said I had to donate $150 to be in the raffle for Vegas backstage passes…guess they pro-rate the cost for the uninsured freelancers?

For those who think there isn’t a thing to differentiate between the two major parties (Ralph Nader), I can finally identify a significant difference between the GOP and the Democrats: The DNC has refused to allow me to contribute because since retiring I am now working as a contractor for the federal government. The Dems do not want the appearance of a conflict of interest between my one-man part-time business and the United States government.

The GOP has embraced the US Chamber of Commerce attack ads against Democratic candidates. The Chamber raises unreported money from foreign businesses including those owned by foreign governments. The GOP doesn’t give a flying fuck about actual conflicts of interest and wants the whole world to know it.

@SanFranLefty: Quick double-check…

Yup. We’re good.

Best guess: They’re trying different numbers to test response. They must not think any two folks on the list know each other.

It’ll be like the Party Like a Rock Star Mayhem Festival package I won from the Liquid Metal channel on Sirius XM this year. They promise you all kindsa shit then dash your hopes with some GA tix at the box office and then you spend a half an hour fighting for a mere VIP-level upgrade. Some fool probably got to see Lamb of God from the side stage on my laminate. A DNC flunkie will screw up the arrangements in Vegas and you’ll end up outside the the rope with the hotel people and some shaved head goons from SEIU to see the Prez flash by for a second. You’ll get a Great Seal of the President T-shirt in the mail a few months later in a feeble attempt to make up for it, like I got about 10 metal cds and an indecent Mayhem Fest shirt a couple of weeks ago.

Fun fact: my high school buddy recently took a trip back here with her boss on his ride, Air Force Two.

@mellbell: Okay, now this is getting interesting…

@nojo: Only emails I got worth noting are for David Amram’s 80th birthday concert in New York and U2 wants to sell me some leftover shit from this summers European tour.

Mine asked for $3. Maybe that’s what they ask from the gays? For obvious reasons.

I don’t know what they have on me in their database. Usually it takes two PBRs to get in my pants.

$190 for me. Shit, I work for an NGO, and the last time I went to Vegas — on business — I gambled exactly nothing.

NFL tj/No happy ending as Favre puts shot in wrong hands, Jets take it in. 20-29 Jets with a minute to go in the 4th.

“You live by the sword, you die by the sword,” Chucky says.

Okay the different price points are intriguing. I wonder if it’s keyed off donations in 2007-2008? Over the course of 18 months I think I gave Barry about 600 bucks… Otherwise I make shit at my job so it ain’t based on my IRS returns…

I’ll give 3 bucks but since I abhor Vegas, Unicorn would have to pay me to go..

@SanFranLefty: $150 here in 2008, I think. Or maybe just $100.

@nojo, Lefty: My records show that I gave to the DNC and the Udall campaign but none to Obama, so no email. Saw Sen. Udall and his wife at the movies the other night, btw.

@redmanlaw: @nojo: @SanFranLefty: I gave a total of $50 in 2009, the only political contribution I’ve ever made in my life. But I have no idea how much, if anything, Black Eagle may have asked from me; I delete without reading anything I get from him, Plugz ™, moveon and pretty much everything else that reeks of fund raising.

@SanFranLefty: @nojo: I recall donating at least $60 to Obama in 2008 ($5 per outburst at the TV during the first debate), and $50 to “Shut the fuck up already, Hillary” in 2009.

My email said $3-fer. Chicago discount? After all, United owns half of O’Hare now.

Sounds like the Eagle has picked up a thing or two about pricing from the airline industry.

Barry’s back, but this time he’s asking me for $25 for the backstage lottery.
