Well, it looks like Melancon is taking off the gloves running ads reenacting some of Vitter’s trysts.

Speaking of hookers and conservatives, an update on the federal judge in Georgia (Reagan appointee) who is charged by the FBI with possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana and cocaine, use of said drugs while in the company of a prostitute, and possession of two illegal firearms.

@SanFranLefty: The guns themselves (a .380 Sig Sauer and a Colt 1911 style .45) were not illegal, put packing heat to a drug transaction is. The affidavit supporting the complaint notes that the Judge’s .380 was cocked with a round in the chamber and had a full magazine. The affidavit does not state whether the safety was on, a condition known as “cocked and locked.”

The .380 Sig Sauer 238 is of of the compact pistols in that caliber that have gotten very popular for concealed carry in the past couple of years. BTW, I should be getting my New Mexico concealed carry card in the next week or so. I qualified with both the 9mm semi-auto and the .357 revolver.

@redmanlaw: From the complaint describing the weapons the Judge had with him when he was busted — “The .380 Sig Sauer had a loaded magazine, and a round seated in the chamber and the hammer of the gun was cocked.”

And given those connections one naturally wonders what DVitter’s social network contains: Clintons? Obamas? Or a real power behind the throne like, Geithners and Bernankes?
