Incinerating widows, orphans and war cripples, yeah! That’s what America is all about!

@FlyingChainSaw: I’ve always wondered whether the conventional wisdom – it would have taken a million or so lives to wage a land war there – is true. We’ll never know, Zinn answered the question – I should look.

Has anyone ever worked out the probable consequences of a blockade?

There would have been the political will to maintain it for quite a while.

And the Bikini Atoll is still pretty much still fucked up if you’d like to eat local produce there.
