Suck. On. This.

New York may ban salt from restaurant food. We just need a flimsy excuse to run a teeny picture of the Star Trek Salt Monster. [MyFoxNY]

that has got to be the stupidest thing I have read today. and that is saying a lot.

I knew there was a cute animal backlash coming…

Automated email of the day: “Catering Directory is now following you on Twitter!”

@nojo:
eventually you will find out that “Catering Directory” is a stalker who has been peeping in your windows at night.

Sure. They can pass a law making it illegal for kitchen staff to spit in the soup. That doesn’t mean the enraged late-night lungy for the boss is going away.

I wonder if they plan to allow it on the table at least.

@SanFranLefty: I was originally thinking of running the 2003 Friedman “Suck on this” video this morning, but then that post took another direction.

NYC does actually have a reasonable salt reduction campaign (endorsed by the AMA and AHA) to decrease salt in processed and restaurant food by 20 percent over 5 years…completely unenforcable and voluntary, obvs. The Kyoto Treaty of Heart Attacks, if you will. Of course, if the reduction initiative is Kyoto, this New York State ban attempt is the equivalent of outlawing cars.

When I was little, that salt monster scared the SHIT out of me.

Speaking of Salt Monsters, I’m sorely tempted to run a separated-at-birth with Nancy Pelosi, at least for the duration of the Rachel interview.

maybe salt will be our new currency, like it once was.
morgan stanley is behind this.

@Capt Howdy:
What. The. Fuck. was THAT?????
i dozed off twice til that thing came to life.
no really…what IS that?
