I’m not that spiteful. One job is an internal posting that I had to almost literally fight HR hand to hand to get an interview. I wasn’t even on the short list of candidates despite my manufacturing experience, supervisory experience AND engineering experience (the job was looking for all three BTW.)

I found out through various connections (including info that the hiring manager wasn’t happy with the candidates he had) and talked to the hiring manager about this. He confronted HR and their excuse as to why I wasn’t even on the list to the manager was so bad that I had to laugh. Instead the short list had consisted of office and lab types with little or no manufacturing experience which is not really what he is looking for at all.

Best part of all, is that they are looking at presentation skills. I don’t fear that.
