Fuck ’Em All, Let God Sort It Out

Sharron Angle would like you to know that rape is just God’s way of telling you it’s time to step up and take some responsibility:

MANDERS: Is there any reason at all for an abortion?

ANGLE: Not in my book.

MANDERS: So, in other words, rape and incest would not be something?

ANGLE: You know, I’m a Christian, and I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of our lives and that he can intercede in all kinds of situations and we need to have a little faith in many things.

Good to know. The next time Angle is the victim of a violent assault, we’ll celebrate the occasion as Divine Intervention.

I wonder what the hell makes these people think he has a “plan”?

privilege?

I’ve always wondered why the wingnut God’s plan only seems to involve ladybits. By their logic, why go to the doctor at all – if Jeebus doesn’t want you to die of pneumonia, surely he’ll cure you, right? :)

It does explain their attitude towards environmental regulation, however. Apparently, God must *want* millions of gallons of oil in the Gulf…

@al2o3cr:

really
what the hell did the fish do wrong?

what if Lassie was a cat?

Why was Lassie made with a dog rather than a cat? Because Timmy would have died in the first episode otherwise.

@Capt Howdy:

I think God has more of a design than a plan. But that’s just me.

@Tommmcat Still Gets Carly Confused With Meg:

I guess
but as I look around if THIS is the “plan” I hate to think what unprepared would be.

Sport TJ: Espana and its hot players and reporter survive Portugal and win today at the World Cup.

This fucking woman will probably go trotting around with Sarah Palin calling herself some sort of feminist. I’m too furious right now to write something witty or cool.

@Capt Howdy: They were refusing to get in the nets so we could fry them up and serve them with cocktail sauce. The shrimp had it coming.

If Harry keeps pulling stupid shit like this, we’re going to have Palin-Bachmann ’12 with Angle as head of HHS.

Where we’re headed as these Christian people take over US America:

“Behemoth frontman Adam Darski (pseudonym/nickname Nergal) [was] accused of an offence against religious feelings (sec. 196 of polish Criminal Code). The case was filed against Darski after a tore up a bible on stage at a Behemoth concert in September 2007.”

Nergal beat the rap, but still. Also, I suppose the case helps his metal cred.

From the comments:

“Gorgoroth did a show in Poland in 2004 (I forget the name of the town/city but it was where Pope John Paul II was from) that featured naked models on crosses, decapitated sheep heads and other such imagery. The band was charged with blasphemy but were eventually let off because they were foreign and unaware of the law. The concert was filmed for a live DVD but it took years to release because Polish authorities seized the footage. The promoter however, did go to prison for allowing a blasphemous concert.”

@Capt Howdy:

That’s typically where the “God has a plan” crowd trots out the “moves in mysterious ways” routine (no, not the U2 dance version). Funny, the ways are always mysterious and unknowable EXCEPT when there’s ladybits involved. Then it’s 100% clear!

@redmanlaw:
Charging a black metal guy with blasphemy is like having Zombie Raygun endorse a conservative candidate; it’s *all* good! :)

@Tommie: God’s design seems to consist of throwing a bunch of shit from the remainder bins together, then leaning over to Gabriel and saying “we’ll just try it out for a coupla hundred years, I think it’ll grow on us.”

@al2o3cr: Exactly what I was thinking.

Saw the Vertigo 2005 show in Vegas later that year. The dancer at 3:48 looked a lot like the dancer that was “pulled from the audience” in Vegas. Hmmm.

Fun fact: Mrs Edge was the choreographer/Mysterious Ways dancer on the historic Zoo TV tour from the early 90s.
