Welcome to Sandy Eggo, Mittens!

“Romney not only sold his family home in Belmont, Mass., but he bought a house — for $12 million — in the northern San Diego community of La Jolla… They still do not own a property in Massachusetts, forcing them to claim temporary residence at a basement apartment in the Belmont home owned by their eldest son, Tagg. It’s the address Romney used to vote in Republican Scott Brown’s recent victorious Senate special election race, all legal with town officials.” [AP/SFGate, via SFL]

The article didn’t answer the all-important question I had, which was whether his dog rides in or on the car when going to Sandy Eggo’s Dog Beach.

Hey Nojo, what does $12 million get you these days in La Jolla? Hot tub, view of Scripps?

@Dodgerblue: Let’s see…

The La Jolla home, with a long lawn sloping to a seawall, beach and the crashing Pacific waves, gave Romney the ocean sounds he craved…

Me, I crave the sounds of I-5 and the airport. Or so it would seem.

T/J for some kvelling: This CNN piece features my colleague and trial partner Melissa Lin Perrella.

Ah, the Romney boys: Tagg, Trick, Tug, Blort and Anus.

funny

Sen. John McCain has endorsed a tough Arizona anti-immigration bill that will let police arrest people who aren’t carrying identification, the latest move in McCain’s rightward shift in advance of a tough Republican Senate primary this summer.

“I think it’s a very important step forward,” McCain said Monday. “I can fully understand why the legislature would want to act.”

It’s a dramatic switch for a senator who supported comprehensive immigration reform with Democratic lion Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) just four years ago. McCain is facing a primary challenge from the right in former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

Immigration reform advocates were bewildered.

pfft, bewildered.

@Capt Howdy: The only question is whether Arizona voters are bewildered. Jamie? Is the Geezer’s blatant pandering taking hold?

@nojo:
it has always worked before.
not to late to donate to Hayworth.

@ManchuCandidate: “Windsock” would appropriate for a serial plane crasher an aviator.

I’m sure Mitten’s move to La Jolla has nothing to do with a large and growing infestation of Mormons in north S.D. county. They excreted a huge alien-white hive temple in view of the I-5.

@nojo: No. I honestly don’t know why he’s bothering. Those who support that kind of legislation were never in a million years gonna vote for him anyway. He should be courting independent voters to come out and vote for him in the primary like he did in 2000. Those people are absolutely key because the dems have a no-name loser Tucson councilman (no one from there gets elected in a statewide contest anymore) and JD has a helluva lot more money and name ID to run on if he gets to the general.

@water: North County was the main spot for funneling Mormon money from Utah in to CA for Prop H8, too.
