Too Hot for the Super Bowl?

This Super Bowl ad for the Fiat 500 Abarth had me at the moment she slaps him, but they decided this Super Bowl ad with Charlie Sheen for the same car was too hot for TV? Really?

She is Romanian model Catrinel Menghia, and she has a (probably fake) scorpion tattoo on the back of her neck. It’s the symbol for Abarth, Fiat’s tuning arm.

Definitely a situation where the product does not live up to the promotion. Now I know nothing about the Abarth, but when I saw the car in the ad, all I could think was “Really? That car is supposed to be Catrinel Menghia? I don’t think so.”

Who banned the Sheen ad? It is running more or less continuously during the NCAA tournament in this market. I must have seen it a dozen times in the last few days.

@libertarian tool: Indeed – it’s on BBC-A all the time now – and that Fiat? 165 BHP at the front wheels … and it’s lighter than an opera pump. Should be a blast to drive.

Yeah, from what I know of that car (which is admittedly scant right at this moment), I would not kick one out of bed for eating crisps, as my Scottish roommate used to say.

It’s a guy. His name is Marvin.

Forget the Scorpion. Wake me when Fiat brings back the Spyder.
