West Coast Atlas Juggs

“It started last week when people complained about letters a local businessman sent out in support of Deborah Pauly, a local councilwoman and a leader in the Orange County GOP who drew nationwide attention last year when she helped lead an angry protest against Muslims with chants like “terrorists go home.” Pauly is now running for a seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors.” [TPM]

Is it wrong to say that right-wing vagina-owners make me tired? They do. There’s something brittle and threatening about them, at the same time. I feel like they might sprout wings and claws and start shitting on me at any moment. Yet, there is a comedy to them, a sort of performance art vibe.

Between the paranoia and the sheer wonder of it, there’s me, exausted. The men I can deal with. Men are assholes generally. I’ve always thought that women were better than us in many, many ways, and yet: Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, Pam Gellar, and oh-my-God-in-Heaven freaking Phyllis Shafley. Fucking Katherine Jean Lopez. MAGGIE GALLAGHER, PEOPLE. MAGGIE GALLAGHER.

It wears me out, I tell you.

@Tommmcatt May Just Have Some MJ In His System As Well, So What?: Oh honey, essentialism never pays the bills. There are a lot of asshole men and asshole women. And there are some awesome men and awesome women in the world.

For every asshole man, there’s an equal groovy awesome woman.

And for every 2 asshole women (Howdy, Sarah and Maggie!) , there’s probably 1.8 or 1.9 asshole men.

IOW, it works out in the wash.

Basically, most humans suck regardless of gender. That’s why we like the pupsters, kittehs and bunnehs. How is your not so little K9 doing these days? If you send me a photo quickly enough, it might be Stinque post 6,001.

@SanFranLefty: I have a lovely pic on the livre du visage. Let me see if I can figure out out to get it to you.

Add: Done and Done. I had forgotten about essentialism, by the way. I see your point, but I still think, as Marget Mead would have it, that “the problem is the male”. Harpies of the Right notwithstanding.

Mostly.
