Perry purports to have shot a coyote that was threatening his dog while jogging in Austin, using what I understand was a Ruger LCP .380 cal. pistol. He must have been pretty close since I know from shooting its big brother the Ruger LC9 9 mm that the point of impact vis a vis point of aim changes significantly after 15 yards, like 8-10 ins* and the sights on the LCP are widely regarded as a real weak point of the gun (the three dot sights on the LC9, oth, are very easy to see). Anyway, Ruger or a distributor has released a Rick Perry Coyote Special commemoritivo pistol:

*at ranges of 3-10 yards, however, the LC9 is stunningly accurate with whatever ammo I put through it.
